Thanks to @NorsemanOne for this thread! I don't drink a lot of porter, but there are definitely a few that I love. Here's one that sits on top of my list! Jackie O's Bourbon Barrel Black Maple, an imperial porter brewed with maple syrup and aged in bourbon barrels. Chocolate, fudge, maple, bourbon, and wonderful layers of dark fruit.

I live in Plymouth County in MA. and will have a Mayflower Porter from time to time. It's a good brew.

I got them in Wendover at Lee's Discount Liquor...Tasty brew, I'd grab a 4pack if your back up in ID.

I love Founders Porter and enjoy it regularly. That said, if it were presented to me as a *stout* -- specifically, as an export stout -- on my first tasting, I'd have no objections to that designation.

This is a wonderful Porter from the great state of West Virginia.

Full review linked in the New Beer Weekend #161 thread that I hope you can all join us in this week or down the road. Would have to look it up, but based on the scores nearly positive this is my highest rated porter. Bursts with wonderful flavors, well balanced, enjoyable from start to near finish with sadly a few ounces left.

And if you're keeping track, it's a tick from that beer-elusive state. Did you get it in a trade or has a WVa brewery finally discovered distro beyond its state boundary?

Thanks for tracking / asking! Yes, this was trade booty which also included my first WV tick a few weeks ago (and a planned WCIPA tomorrow). Down to eight states with one more in possession (Rhode Island) and I believe a second I should receive later today (New Jersey).

I can get North Dakota's Drekker anytime though waiting to find and grab a beer tasting beer if they make one (mostly slurpee beers and haze, at least sent this way). That would leave Alabama, Arkansas and Mississippi from the SEC, plus Idaho / South Dakota as the elusive remaining five I will track down / trade for at some point.

Been working slowly through the last Coffee Lawlessness Porter from Platform Beer Co.
I'll miss this one despite the shade cast on the brewer and it's macro buyer shutting them down.

Here's a Great Baltic Porter that is so much better than it's price tag would lead to think. Starts off malty and a little sweet like chocolate..nice and creamy and finishes with a heavy roast....what else could you expect out of A Dark and Rich Beer for $3.99

Basic Porter - Founders is still my favorite even with all the changes at that brewery. Smuttynose is a close second.

Impy Porter - Victory at Sea

Deschutes Black Butte. A classic American porter, IMO.
