Samothraki Brewing - Fonias Pale Ale

This is from the remote island of Samothraki and it's named after a famous waterfall. Had this earlier but didn't post it as I got yelled by the mods a few days back for opening threads too early, lol. I get it, it it's not my fault I'm already in the next day and have a habit of starting early

Now on our way to the city of Kavala, going through some lovely wilderness.

 

Morning all. It's a bank holiday weekend here, so that means a pub crawl!

Starting with an above average bitter, well for Greene King anyway, their house ale. It's the same in every pub but it just gets called a different name in each, usually named after the pub.



They've got a pub cat here, he's called William. I think William might be quite old.

 

Quick pit stop for some refreshments and then on to Kavala.


No craft beer here (how dare they) but a cold Mythos will do the trick. Kavala has a microbrewery so I will attempt to find their products.

 

Staying for another here. Ale Fresco by Greene King. Blonde ale.

I am going to start reviewing Canadian Classic beers from the old days when there were only about 10 beers from coast to coast. They live on.

Full hot take in the New Beer Sunday #966 thread. Bottom line, this hits all the high notes, one of my favorite new beers of 2023, and a Top 3 Triple IPA and NEIPA. If you get a chance for Wax Wings, definitely track some down. Thank you so much Jake @brewskis for your excellent gift!
