    I stuffed up last night's WBAYDN by starting a new thread after @Todd had already started one, but for the life of me I can't see tonight's, so here it is! Happy Saturday!

    There is a plethora of beer in this opening post. The first one is a standard (read poor) macro lager from my daughter's netball final, where they disastrously coughed up an eight-goal, three-quarter-time lead to lose, which is the equivalent of blowing a 20-point lead in the last in basketball. It was tough to watch!

    The second is a supposed chocolate fudge stout, courtesy of my back deck, but which for the life of me I could detect no chocolate in.

    To round things off is the best mid-strength beer I've ever had, Little Hazy Lager, a 3.5%ABV flavour bomb from Little Creatures here in Geelong, stylishly out of focus but extremely tasty nonetheless!     Here's the promised third beer. It was an extremely well-made mid-strength beer with peaches, guava, and tropical fruit up the wazoo. Next time I will try to focus on the beer rather than the kid in the background....

    The closing whisky sour is not shown, but it was the perfect end to a very infrequent date night.

    Good day Az, 50 year old and a bit and a fine Euro trip coming. Life could be so much worse innit?

    Drinking St Feuillien Tripel, which is just like I said of Kwak yesterday something I barely ever buy but quite good nonetheless.

    Old is all relative, I like to bug our friend vabeerguy about the meaning of the term and according to him we’re pretty much all young here.

    On a scale of vabeerguy you’re 5 out of 10 old. Cheers, and safe trip!

    This is a new one from Unibroue.
    A well done flavoured Witbier. Unibroue is good at these. A welcome addition.
    Poured a 375ml can into a pint glass. A two finger fine white head on a cloudy apricot. The head diminishes to a thin layer that sticks around.
    Apricot and wheat in the nose.
    Apricot is apparent up front. Not much Witbier quality, more of a Fruit and Field beer.
    Light body and carbonation.

    Well, awoke to the news that Jimmy had passed away. For some reason, this celebrity death had me pondering mortality more than usual on my morning walk as I listening to Coconut Telegraph. Figured I'd enjoy the cool but comfortable morning air blowing through the house with a beer and some music (this is the inside of Living and Dying in 3/4 Time)

    I am sharing that sentiment with you this morning, sir. Longtime Parrothead here.

    Jimmy is both the artist whom I've seen perform live the most times, and purchased the most released music from. Even bought his books, and went to his terrible restaurant haha.

    A group of friends and I had a 7 year streak of catching the Labor Day Weekend Shows at Great Woods in Mansfield MA during the 1990s, spanning 3 early relationships of mine. A million great memories, and I'm sure a good chunk of missing memories!

    I've never posted a pic of myself here (yet, to date), but here's me and 2 buddies tailgating (quite literally in this shot!) in the parking lot at one of those shows. Staff would open the gates at 11:30AM for a 7pm show!!!! That's a lot of pregame lemme tell ya. Went by car, van, shuttle bus, and even limo one year.

    Bottled 5/1/23. Poured at 50° straight outta my chiller set at 50°…tasty stuff!

    Our monthly bottle share is this afternoon at the pub. Attendance may be light; I know several regulars who are out of town this holiday weekend. Oh well, we decided to do another bottle share next Saturday also! So if you can’t make today, come hang with the gang next week!

    One of my Bucket List items was seeing Jimmy in concert. I knew time was short but he was only 76. I'm really sad about this.
