Out of all the KBS variants I've tried(all of them), this was my least favorite. I still rated it above average for a fruited imperial stout but the blueberry came off a touch medicinal and was an odd combo between the coffee and dark chocolate you would typically expect from base KBS. Not a bad beer by any means but I'm not interested in more than the 4 pack I already drank. Cheers.

I wouldn't be surprised because unlike the other 99% of barrel aged stout brewers they're trying to make something that appeals to a vast majority of beer drinkers. The bitter bakers chocolate and Espresso coffee vibes that we appreciate is not appreciated by your typical gas station beer buyer who's deciding between KBS and a sixer of Guiness or PBR Coffee milkshakes.

Literally lists chocolate syrup as an adjunct….it’s on the back label.

Finally scored some in Iowa today! In Keokuk, about a mile north of the Missouri State line. Still hasn't dropped in our area yet, which leads me to question whether it ever will.

And, no, I didn't drive 170 miles just to get it (although I've done arguably stupider stuff). I was on the road and just happened across it at a grocery store.

I don't see a listing on their website for the October BA release. Interestingly, it seems they've removed mention of an August BA release. Maybe the planned beer just didn't come out to expectations or needed more time to mature?

HG is all over the place here but I too noticed that it's not on their site. Reviews of it seem mixed and I am not sure I will buy a four pack and will look for singles but I am interested in trying it.

It's not unusual for website updates to lag releases or for releases to start ahead of schedule.

for sure. What’s strange, though, is there was an “August release” TBD. With the silhouetted beer imagine on the Barrel Aged series page.

there was also a row for an august release on the barrel aged release calendar page.

both of which are now gone.

I suppose it COULD be that the BA pumpkin beer IS the august release and they just goofed the site update?

Blueberry KBS is dreadful! Why would Founders want to ruin KBS with tart blueberries? It bordered on tasting like an infected stout. By far, this was the worst variant. I am glad I only bought a single.

    Finally found a 4-pack yesterday in PA…was $8/single or $27/4-pack so I elected for a 4 pack. Hoping it’s decent

I like KBS Blueberry, much more than the chocolate cherry KBS, but not as much as the taproom-only raspberry KBS. I think the tart blueberries do clash a bit with the other flavors, which is something that I don't recall with the even sweeter blueberry Lizard of Koz. I certainly don't regret buying a four-pack.

IMO the chocolate syrup is what detracts the most. I don’t see it listed in the online descriptions, but it’s on the back label. The blueberry flavor might be workable, but I suppose chocolate covered blueberry isn’t for me.

Had a single and didn't love this. Typically love KBS and it's variants but there's a tartness here and it's a flavor that just doesn't mix well in a strong stout for me.
