    Happy Sunday NBW.
    Great start @Roy_Hobbs !!!
This one comes from @FBarber in NBS BIF #17.
    Pharmacy Porter by Perennial

Deep dark in color with a khaki colored head. The foam is loosely packed, with moderate retention.
Nose pumps a variety of both sweet chocolate and caramel notes, as well as a more nuanced brown bread and raisin.
The flavor follows the nose faithfully but I would say it's more balanced with the sweeter notes in the nose presenting a more subdued approach. A mild prune meets fig note pops in on the back end also.
Mouthfeel is medium, lightly carbonated, and finishes smoothly as a tapering off of the sweetness nods in the ever so slightly bitter range.

Brewers notes :Every once in a while, a hop comes along that speaks to us in a way few others do. Peacharine, from New Zealand, is one of those hops. Very Jubilee is a showcase for this delightful novelty from the Land of the Long White Cloud. You are holding an amplified version of Jubilee, our original Peacharine-focused beer, which features enormous hop charges in both the kettle and the dry hop. It contains an adjusted base recipe specifically designed to balance said hop charge, with incredible stone fruit notes layered throughout the experience. In addition to the beautiful peachy character, we experience massively saturated notes of earthy citrus, white wine, tropical fruit, and star fruit. Wow! We hope you enjoy

Pale yellow orange hazy liquid , one finger white foam cap , thin veiled lacings , settles to a ring

Aroma is peachy, tropical fruits, stone fruits

    Taste is tropical fruits, peaches

    Mouthfeel is smooth. Soft,

    Good beer

Paler than the photo suggests - given that it is still 95F outside, I thought I would open something more refreshing than the marzens I tend to prefer during what passes for autumn in my neck of the woods. Not bad, but won't be a repeat purchase for me...cheers!

Best before February 3rd, 2024 - enjoyed on September 10, 2023. Poured from a pint can into my Moonlight shaped pint glass.

Clear harvest gold to sunglow gradient beneath a fat ivory finger of dense lasting cream. Rich soapy lacing; excellent retention.

Bready, crackery malt in the nose with hints of lemon/orange zest and wild grass.

Rich, malty palate entry. Sweet in the middle with hints of toasted sugar and maize. Faintly tart (and initially metallic) with hints of dandelion. Lager yeast is distinctive but not perfectly clean. Medium, malty, but scattered finish. Low bitterness adds a little balance but retreats quickly.

Pillow soft mouthfeel, medium-bodied, creamy but almost refreshing.

A decent domestic festbier, but there is a lingering flavor (almost like sour socks) that mars my overall impression.

Another trade boon from the good Doctor, Swamp Head Brewing Big Nose IPA presented in appropriate glassware, also from @DoctorZombies
    :
    ...and my notes
"12oz undated can poured into a pint glass shows a cloudy dark orange/copper body with a thin cap of tight, white bubbles that leaves copious leopard skinned lacing.

Aroma includes pine resin, and grapefruit and orange fruit and piths.

Flavor is dominated by robust fruity, piney hops but a bready malt forms a solid backbone.

Full mouthfeel falls just short of chewy, and finishes clean, with just a hint of citrus remaining.

    Overall a pleasure to drink"

Some fun beers so far on this Sunday. Football fans, hope your team is doing well, unless it’s the Pats, but that’s just this weekend :stuck_out_tongue: @MacMalt much like you I was watching that awesome Texas Bama game last night, college football energy is like nothing else, I love it.

Another day another fresh hop beer from @snaotheus this one is the English pale ale…

Away Days - Fresh Hop Deadline Day (English Pale Ale 4.6%)

Light straw color, gold hued, soapy white head, no much retention or lacing but never devoid of some white on top, clear but not crystal clear.

Nose is vibrant and bright hop notes, fresh hallertau…lends a very woodsy spice character for me in this beer, with some light grass and herbal notes as well, light hint of pale malt sweetness.

The taste leans into the woodiness, comes off as almost oaky to me with more earthy notes though, some light grain character and a soft malt backbone; almost scone like to me.

Mouthfeel is light and super drinkable, clean clean beer, hop resins are noticeable with a medium bitterness, soft and smooth and carbonation.

Another highly drinkable fresh hop pale ale, I liked this one a lot. Had a slightly more complex malt presence, and the fresh hallertau were unique. Gladly gonna sip on the rest of this beer.

Have a great week everyone, can’t wait to hang again next weekend.

16 oz can into a tall Pilsner glass.
L: Pours very light straw yellow with steady rapid carbonation bubbles, a 1.5" soapy head that recedes to smooth white, light random lacing.
S: Bready, wet hay, lightly floral, perfume hop notes.
T: Cereal grains, pale malts, a gentle touch of grassy hops, fruity in the middle, tastes are fast-moving.
F: Moderately crisp light-bodied mouthfeel with a fairly fast and lightly drying finish.
O: A delicate and gently fruity Pils. Light-bodied and crushable for drinking. Simple and pleasant. It is excellent in its style.

Day 2, another one and done whilst grilling some chicken on the Weber kettle, aka “the best grill ever” IMHO. That’s the perfect time for a great beer.

Pours a very hazy fleshy peach color with a fluffy off white head that leaves ringlets of lace as you enjoy the beer. Gorgeous hazy.

The nose is dank and packed with sweet peach aromas, orange peel, some grapefruit, and lots of mango and pineapple. This is literally a beer fruit basket of aromas.

The peach flavors lead the taste and are delicious, with the orange, mango, and pineapple flavors following, with a bit of green grapes mid palate and a nice creamy oat flavor on the finish. Very balanced and oh so delicious.

The mouthfeel is full, soft, and creamy, adding to the drinkability. This is a magnificent representation of the style, IMHO.

Oh, I've known for more years than I care that gravity sucks, thanks to the scale that I'm sure is lying to me as much as the calendar

Funny thing is the side of the ankle that was hyper-extended has felt fine for 24+ hours, but my big toe is in pain, and it is quite annoying. I am assuming it is the pressure from the internals of inadvertently taking parts of my body to extremes, but I'm also just a tad anxious to find more obvious signs of improvement on all fronts

Ozark Beer Co. Kolsch German Style Ale, no ABV listed; 3.66 overall

$ 1 per sixer goes to the Music Moves charity

Pours a bright gold & effervescent with a pinky of eggshell colored head. Nice head retention & lacing

S: Grain & cereal notes, some floral hops

T: Follows the nose, some bready notes & a little bit of lemony hops up front. Sweet grainyness, a little bit of lemon & grassyness as this beer warms up. Finishes with a whisper of pear & a little dryness

    MF: Light/medium body, delicate carbonation

Solid take on the style, they should've put this out a month ago when the heat was ridiculous. Plenty of drinkability. Was looking for more depth of flavor, usually associate some fruittyness with this style, not getting much of that

From a 16oz can purchased at the brewery:

The beer is a lighter looking beer. Golden in color, and somewhat murky looking. Some light shines through, but I can't see through it. The head that forms is 2 finger, and white. Decent retention overall, and there's some lacing on the glass.
The aroma is somewhat juicy smelling. I do get some citrus notes in here, as well as a hint of melon.
Taste - The beer starts off somewhat malty, and I get some bread/biscuit flavors. The hops seem to come in for me on the backside. This is where I get melon and the citrus from the hops. The flavors are not super aggressive, but there.
The body is lighter, but this is expected. Somewhat soft feeling. There's not a lot of bitterness in this beer, and what bitter feeling there is, doesn't linger.
Very well made beer, that's packed with flavor, yet easy to drink.

I may have one more in me. Cheers all!

    Hey, kids. Tonight's volunteer is from Proclamation Ale Company;

This is Postcursor - a pale sour ale fermented with multiple strains of Brett, Lacto, and other local wild yeast and oak aged with apricots, according to their description. It's a wild ale in BA-verse.

Pours an oranges color, a few fleeting bubbles but no head. Cloudy with some chunky bits. Not a looker.

The smell sets a better stage. Sour - lemony and lactic overlaid with a pleasant Brett note. The apricot is there, a bit jammy. Very light touch of oak.

The taste sort of follows along, but raises the bar again. It opens fairly tart between the lacto sour and some fruity tartness. The edge gets taken off by a strong apricot flavor, still a bit jammy, and a tiny bit sweet. There's some clear oakiness, and a peppery phenolic note at the end. While all that goes on, the Brett weaves in and out - its pretty subtle but a definite contributor.

The feel is medium - seems a little more full bodied than similar beers. Finishes dry and "snappy". Seems undercarbonated to me.

It's a good beer, not great. Interesting interplay of flavors. I think in the 3.8 range on this one.

Night cap - Bottle Logic’s “Space Jam” (2023), I believe a blend of BBA Space Trace, and BBA Jam The Radar:

Poured at 54°. Black with ruby edges; flecks of coconut floaties; dark brown head fizzled out quickly leaving a small island of micro dots, a solid ring and a few spots of lace; thick legs on swirl. Strong raspberry nose; bourbon and coconut as beer warmed. Sweet raspberry preserves, chocolate and coconut; bourbon in background; sweet berries finish. Medium plus full body; not adjuncty; moderate minus carbonation; some mouth warmth from 13.5% abv. Overall, delicious and well balanced between the three main flavors; coconut compliments the chocolate and berries sweetness, all of which are present and accounted for in equal measure.

    From a 12oz can dated 7-14-2023

Beautiful copper colored pour. Nice clarity to this beer. The head that formed was 1 finger and white. Somewhat fluffy looking. Overall decent retention. No lacing on the glass as the head dissipates to a ring around the edge of the glass.
The nose is super malty. There's just a ton of cereal and bread/biscuit on this aroma. Slight grain aroma.
Taste - This beer is a nice grain bomb. Lots of cereal in the flavor. The bread and biscuit is also a hint of caramel that also makes it into the flavor. Slight hint of hops on the backside.
The body is decent. I do get a bit of a bubbly feeling in this beer.
This is a very tasty beer of this style. I am happy with this beer.

Deschutes Black Butte XXXV Imperial Porter with cherries, cocoa & vanilla , 11.0% ABV; 3.86 overall

Pours an effervescent mahogany with a pinky of mocha colored head. Average-ish head retention & lacing

S: Cocoa, roastyness & some cherries, nose stays strong

T: Follows the nose, barrel dryness, a touch of carob & some leafy hops up front. Cocoa, cherry & a little roastyness/ dryness as this beer warms up, plus some woody hops. Finishes pretty dry with woody & leafy hops, plus a little cherry & cocoa

MF: Medium body, slight carbonation, warming, got chewier as it warmed up

Solid, not great BA tale on this style. Rare that I dig many beers of this style if cherries are featured, this is no exception. Serviceable, not memorable
