    Hello,
I'm writing to you from Cameroon.
I'm Cedric, and very curious and happy to learn from this website about beers.
I'm willing to create a beer for local men and women with ingredients basis such as corn or peanut or pineapple that we have massively here but to add especially lemongrass. Does anyone have references about a receipe or legendary beer with theses ingredients ?

Wish you to know more about small beer makers.
    Sincerely,

Hi, Cedric. You've found the right place to learn about beers, and the best place to get started is understanding the various styles of beers that can be found. Under Beers on the main menu you'll find Beer Styles which will give you definitions regarding their taste and frequently the key ingredient(s). https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/styles/ I don't know what the beer market is like in Cameroon, but if you click on any of the styles in the list you'll get a list of the most popular beers in each style. Maybe some are available to you so that you can buy them to experience what is described in the text.

Just about every beer uses barley malt as the base ingredient. Corn is used as a secondary ingredient in some styles, but I can't think of any beers where it is the only ingredient. Peanuts, pineapple and lemon grass have been used as extra flavorings in some beers, but not much of either is used. (Peanuts are difficult to use because of the oil that is associated with them.)

If you want to learn the basics of brewing I'll suggest that you read HowToBrew.com which most homebrewers will read while learning the process. If you want to brew beer commercially, well you've got to start somewhere, and homebrewing is where most commercial brewers get their start. Check out the Homebrewing forum which is one of the great features of the BA site. You won't learn to brew by reading the forum, but you'll get an idea of what is possible and the nuances of brewing.

Welcome to the BA site. Hang around as much as you'd like, and explore the site to discover all of the features to enhance your experience and enjoyment.

    Welcome Cedric to Beer Advocate.

I don't brew beer personally, but know you can find and have good conversations regarding homebrewing in this folder, including the use of the ingredients you brew.

I personally like the flavor of lemongrass in my beers and food. @PapaGoose03 offered great resources and suggestions, I'm tagging @JackHorzempa who is a leading voice of brewers here who offers great advice and suggestions.

Hope to see you around on the message boards!

Hi, @geomiller. You should start a thread to introduce yourself, but regardless, welcome to membership. Enjoy yourself.
