Wow. The damning part is this :
“Attorney Scott Yahne wrote that the prior setup was a challenge to 3 Floyds as the brewery got more attention.

“As patrons of the prior iteration of the Taproom are aware, the prior configuration was extremely cramped and could not meet the demand that followed 3 Floyds world renowned beer and distilled spirits, not to mention the extraordinary food creations served up from the space challenged kitchen,” he wrote.“”

Since when do you have your lawyer comment on the expansion? Literally anyone, but your lawyer should be commenting on the expansion unless this is because you want to ensure you don’t say something that might come back to bite you in the ass when the original investors come after you. “Extremely cramped configuration”, “could not meet demand”, and “space challenged kitchen” seem to set the table for why they needed to close out investors and reinvent the business.

I used to take my daughter to the brewpub regularly. She loved the food. She loved the horror movies (takes after me). Granted, it was always lunch or early dinner, never later hours. I don’t feel bad about it. But she also loves Kuma’s, so ‍♂️

The lawyer is involved because they were making the presentation to the Town of Munster in order to get it approved. And the renderings depict what you want the tight asses in Munster want to visualize in order to get approved.

Northside Chicago folks...5 bottles of Broo Doo left at Bottles & Cans on Lincoln. I'm not a wet hop drinker, really, but I couldn't pass on at least a single of the last batch...

Re: Broo Doo, per the Binny's newsletter, it's made with wet Comet hops fwiw. I'm digging the beer as well. Hope the rumors aren't true for the beer's future but I do see from the rendered images of the new taproom, Broo Doo is on the board. Seems as good as a guarantee to me that it's not going away.

And while the stormtrooper is sure to become a customer favorite, I'm looking forward to the Han Solo in carbonite.

My beer sensei confirmed for me yesterday that they simply can't secure enough fresh hops for a production run of Broo Doo, but will be available draft only in the future

Seems Brian Boru is getting renamed. As the label reads, the king is dead. Long live the king.

Yeah, losing Brian Boru is a shame, but I can see why they thought that label would do better at drawing attention to a red ale.

Brian Boru is going away in the sense that it won't be packaged/distributed, but it will still be made on a limited basis. Heard it's because they can't source the volume of hops they need to distribute.

How long before ZD goes away for same reasons if that is two seasonal they are changing? Is FFF jumping the shark as they get closer to national distro? Cutting out tried and true favorites because you are growing too big is usually a bad sign.

Brian Boru was a cool name if you realize, which most don’t, that he was the King of Munster.

ZD uses Citra which is hugely popular and I doubt they have issues sourcing enough these days.

(Though we can debate about the quality of citra sourced vs in years past if we want).

Broo Droo available at Bottles and Cans Edgebrook. I bought a six pack. Still 2 six packs on the shelf. Did not ask if they had any in the back.

Good catch. They need you as their copy editor. Unless their plan is for the return of the ancient words as well.
