Totally agree. Love Huna, Abraxas and MC. Space Ghost and Habanero Sculpin were not for me… they are on a different level.

CW has knocked it out of the park with 25 Anniversary releases. It has been fun making the monthly trip to CW, enjoying beer, friends, and camping.
Honey habanero Black Gold is a real easy pass for me. Considering regular Black Gold was a available through June at the brewery, I feel just fine skipping that release.

Kinda bummed that there are two of the habanero "hot honey" BG included in the release package. I think 4:1 would be the way to go. Hard to pull the trigger on 3:2.

Y’all can send me all the habanero Black Gold. Even your dusty Space Ghosts. I miss my C dub beers.

2023 is the year of my CW streaks being broken. Missed the anniversary party in January (snowstorm) after being at every party since Sixteen but luckily someone up there already picked up bottles for me. Going to skip Black Gold for the first time in just as long as not interested in the spicy Black Gold; no doubt locally Ill find a loosey or two. I'm sure it'll be some people's jam but that ain't my bag. It is a hella fun event though usually with pretty nice weather so the tap pours will be missed.

It blows my mind how minimal the chatter has been with CW this year. Most of these 25th Anniversary releases have been bangers. Here's to another incredible barrel aged release today. CW crew really blew the doors off this year.

I bought my Bronze Label bottles today plus 1 bottle of Red Label at Amherst. I am in no hurry to drink them.

I am stuck in Michigan today for a 100 mile bike ride tomorrow. I’m hoping some bottles make it through the weekend in MKE, but I’m not holding out hope.

CW put on one hell of a 25th anniversary celebration! They had us all fooled at the anniversary party in January thinking that was it, only to release another 11 stellar stouts over the next nine months. Incredible. Thanks to the whole team, from brewers to taproom staff, to the part timers for your passion and hard work!
The green label, B&E's maple edition is my favorite. The natural but obvious maple flavor, perfectly blended barrel, and velvet smooth texture on the viscous body is CWs best execution IMO.
Great to see (and reconnect with) some OG BA's there today and reminisce all of the good times had at this special place. ElkHunter, you are missed. We remember you and your lovely wife and how you welcomed us into the group at CW; wishing you all the best my friend!!
    Cheers CW!

I've been lucky to get my hands on any of the 25th bottles I've wanted thanks to the generosity of @Duncan83 . So far I've had the Weller (blue label) and currently working on the back half of the Rye (red label). They've both been great. I'm a big fan of their past rye BA stouts, and just that aporach in general, and this one is no exception

After having the bronze label this weekend, I have had all the labels. Not a bad one in the bunch. Already planning for the 30th Anniversary releases.

Man am I glad they brought Headless Heron back. I feel like this years version is even better than the previous ones. Might be my perfect pumpkin beer.

This would be a very odd name for a beer any other time of year...

Some people think I'm crazy for liking CW Stouts

Black Gold and Reserve Stout are some of my favorites .
Probably better that no one talks about them cuz that means more beer for the people that want it and don't try to resell .
    :beers:

I also notice 608 brewing BA Stouts don't get much chatter on Beer Advocate..
I have tried a few of them they seemed solid. 608 maybe opening an additional taproom in Holmen, WI soon?

Stopped at the Mke location today to grab an extra Black Gold to give for Christmas and they had a 25 variant that is a Binny's collaboration using their store pick wheated bourbon barrels. I imagine this is or will be popping up at Binny's for the FIB crowd. For local peeps there's also a Discount Liquor collab featuring their store pick Buffalo Trace barrels but bottles weren't at the brewpub. Also had bombers of the previous 2yr Mke anniversary beers. Still plenty of the Black Friday barleywine 4 packs too.

Great time to be into CW's barrel-aged stuff!

Was the Binny’s collab a bomber or 4 pack? Just curious what to look out for.

Bomber bottle. Same label as other 25 variants but this time blue in color. Says "Twelve Seasons of Slumber" at the top like the beer has it's own name but still uses the 25 label. Guy behind the bar was like "I dunno man, it just showed up here before I opened this morning." It now has an UnTappd listing saying it spent 3 years in Binny's hand selected wheated Weller Bourbon barrels so guess I missed that detail. Binny's logo is printed on the label under the herons so it's gotta be making it's way down there in some form.

Also forgot to mention they still have Pappy barrel 25 and Black Gold to go as well. Everything is $20 except Pappy 25 is $25.

Pappy 25 sounds amazing! Perhaps I will find it in MN? One can only hope.
