Like I said, since 2019, when the membership expanded by quite a few members. DB Anab was before that and MJK was too. MJK also had a public release. TWCP cont, like you said, was not members only. Good call on some of those saisons though, and orviamo b2. So maybe a bit more than I initially thought.

 

The $225 does include at least that amount beer that we receive for no cost though, with everything else just being chance to purchase. Previously it was all white labels but they upped the cost this year and have so far given us a few white labels as well as Single Thread and Orviamo as part of that cost (with I assume more to come)

 

DB Anabasis was released August 2020 and MJK was in 2021 with only a tiny in person surprise public release

 

Reverberant set too I think.
And a few of the leftovers for the public packaged sets this year have been pretty limited.

 

I’m mostly just talking about year-to-date membership years here. MJK may have been 21 but was included in the 20 membership.

my point is that there aren’t an absolute ton of releases that are La Coterie only. SP does a great job of spreading the love around.

Yeah that’s all well and good if you want to discount how people feel, I guess. Also, no one is talking about getting screwed, it’s not like SP oversold the beer and had to refund people randomly. Don’t turn it into something it isn’t. It’s absolutely valid to be a bit annoyed if you’re a paying la coterie member and really wanted this set, especially after it’s featured in the member book, and you couldn’t get it because it was FCFS and SP didn’t announce that until the sale. Tbh SP even announces when things are FCFS for public sales so they’re at least aware it can be part of their process.

 

I’m very tempted to go back and compare the people complaining about not getting the box to the people who told members to stop whining about not getting beers before this LC year.

I'll continue to give myself high-fives for being incredibly #blessed for a) not being in LC myself, but b) having multiple friends who are members and buy everything, and c) said friends also being very, very generous with sharing bottles.

Anyway...I'm excited to make the trek over this weekend; for anyone reading this thread who will be there Saturday, I'll be the (only?) guy stupid enough to wear Sporting KC attire that day.

Epic character - on the all-time greats list

 

Was thinking something more along the lines of putting up 500 with box and 300 without (whatever the correct number ends up being) so if one option sold out then members at least still had the option for the other to cover all LC. I kinda like the box and would have been happy with either but I'm guessing most LC members would have been happy getting either rather than the option of nothing.

I'm surprised there isn't an HBS case study of SP supply and demand economics yet.

 

To change the subject: anybody think it’s slightly strange straight up port is blended into Deca?
