Good morning and have a good week Advocates,
this is the week leading up to one of the most important beer festivals here in Italy, where many new beers will also be presented.
    Let's hope better than this.

Dugges (Landvetter, SVE) - RAINBOW - Fruit Sour Ale (with raspberries, strawberries, cherries, blueberries and cherry blossoms) 4.5%.

33cl can (€5 from the pub fridge).
On the label: "Best before: 10/01/2025".
I've already had several fruit sours from this brewery, but this is the first time.
As soon as it is opened, it has a moderate aroma of strawberry jam. Milder aromas of berries in general.
Poured it is ruby red in color, very clean.
As usual, the foam has a non-existent and evanescent consistency (like that of a Prosecco).
Rather flat beer in the mouth, with a very light carbonation in the background.
The taste is much closer to that of a medicine (Bisolvon for cough) or flavored vitamins, than to that of a fruit sour: strawberry and raspberry predominate but the beer does not find a balance between the fruity and jammy taste of the fruits used and the lactic note which should cleanse the tongue a little, but which in reality is almost imperceptible although overshadowed by the sweet fruitiness.
This fruity taste also gives the sensation of being sugary so this jammy sensation in the mouth is even more distinct.
In my opinion, an unbalanced beer that I found to be well below the level of the other fruit sours from this brewery that I had already tasted: a poorly made beer, it looks like a medicine or a flavored vitamin (the kind that is given to teenagers in spring).
I would be curious to ask if they at Dugges really like this beer, given that the others they make are still pleasant, they may not drive you crazy... but they don't even resemble a syrup like that.
Another bad thing is that I had two cans, so I have one left.

I hope for something better for the WBAYDN 4000.

Good morning and happy new week advocates!

Started off the day by a sad news, my guide when I was touring the Southwest in summer 2012 passed away overnight. Really laid back guy, who lived in Florida his whole life while traveling from LA to Laughlin, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Las Vegas, Route 66 and San Francisco. Thanks for the memories and this outstanding trip, K.!

    Drinking Brooklyn East IPA.

    K. loved many bands and tunes but thanks to him I got to know The Meters. Adios and farewell buddy:

Pretty much lacking in the flavor and aroma departments, but the label says it DOES have some alcohol. Rating 3.1, rDev 0% (First rating)

Thanks peers. Learned about it via FB this am, he was mid-sixties and not sure if he was retired or still touring with tourists.

Overall, he’s seen some of the most beautiful places of the US numerous times and never got tired of it, understandably so. Learned a ton about the land of the free then in this twelve days Tour with him.

One of my paintings somehow fell last night. Add it to the list of things I need to get done around the house.

    Anyway, beer me!

Hello friends! Thanks for the double whammy posting from @Jack_14 and @Shanex. Great minds think alike! Beautiful.
My mother-in-law passed away at her home this morning at about 6:30 AM. RIP Lindy Addy. Her 4 kids are awesome and successful. She will forever be with me.
Beer. Lawn chop. Beer. A good mindless task on a heavy day. It's hot and sunny and lightly breezy. Fat Head's Bumble Berry Honey Blueberry Ale. Not had it on tap. A glass pour didn't taste that great, straight outta the can was okay, but the 8 oz recyclable plastic cup is the winner. Just gonna roll with it. No complaints here. Cheers! Enjoy life!
