Where are you seeing bottles of BA Narwhal? It's been several years since I last saw any bottles in PDX.

Would love to find a few bottles.

If this year's hits shelves and I'm able to get a bottle, I'll be sharing a ten year vertical. Come on down and join. I'm also eager to clear out a box or two of bottles, lol.

I never intentionally started saving for this vertical until I realized I had 2-3 years bottles in the basement, and then sub sequentially missed opening the five year vertical when the latest bottle was fresh.

But based on current markets, I'm certain we'll see less Abraxas this year and less moving forward. I'm curious to see how much CBS hits our local shelves, and at what price point it sits. Liquid Spiritual Delight w/ Coffee is ~$18 a 4 pack of 12oz cans and a damn good imperial stout. I'm not willing to pay more than ~$1, maybe $2 (since it's barrel aged), more per bottle for CBS.

He might be talking about the cans. I haven't picked one up in a while but they are regularly on the shelf down here and they seem to package batches a couple times a year. The last one I bought was canned this January

CBS is one of my favorite beers, but it does not age well. Not that it turns "bad" after a couple years, but maple syrup is what makes the beer, and maple syrup fades away into generic extra sweetness after some time.

Anyway, I usually drink all of mine within a month, so I'm definitely excited to hear this news

The last year that I know of that the 750's were bottled is 2018, which to my palette, tasted better than the 2019. But if you want a 2019 12 oz, I have those.

I've only ever seen that in 16oz cans. But to be honest I quit buying it as I like the regular better.

Thanks! Shows you how long it's been since I last bought any. I had completely forgotten that they started canning this beer. Have only had it in 22 ounce bottle format, and it was always pretty good.

I clearly need to get out more.

I've almost got my 12 Days of Christmas lineup nailed down. This would make a nice last-minute addition.

Do these stay good for moderate time? She's been pregnant and can't drink until Feb, but we have family in MI

Despite my hesitation to support Founders in light of all the bullshit, CBS still hasn’t been displaced as my top rated beer of all time after nearly 4 years, so I’ll have to grab some of this. Yeah sure, that was back in my beer infancy, but I still love that beer and I doubt that will change

Some of the old 750s are still on shelves, though retailers now want $35 for one. Hard pass.

It will still be in top taste in February. I don't think this beer starts to change much until a year old, and then it starts slowly changing with declining flavors, but not to the point of being anywhere close to bad. My experience has been that it's still a tasty beer at the 5-6 years old, but I don't think it's worth it to keep longer than that - it won't improve into a greater beer.

I walked away from the last 25oz release. Bottles were $25-29 each.

Due to the way Founders handles themselves I won’t be buying this one either.

    Enjoy

You (and others on this thread) might find this of interest.

Several weeks ago, I was enjoying a glass of Fremont ba Dark Star at John's Market in PDX, when I heard someone inquiring about available ba RIS from Michigan. The staff mentioned New Holland and a couple other breweries, but that was it. Eventually I apologized for eavesdropping, acknowledged that this was none of my business, but didn't they also have kbs variants and maybe even some CBS? Quick aside... John's is a huge craft beer outlet, with three sizeable stores in the PDX area... and in the recent past I'd seen both CBS and kbs bottles in a couple of their stores.

Anyway, there was a moment of silence and then one of the staff simply stated that they had decided not to carry Founders products anymore. They informed me that founders had engaged in what they felt were some questionable business practices (I smiled and told them I thought that was a very nice way to put it), and would no longer be carrying their merchandise.

So it seems like people are paying attention.
