Hi y’all. So, Lagunitas Born Yesterday is marked here as retired. I did see on their socials that they are releasing it this year. Any confirmation out there? When it was good, it was the best beer Lagunitas had ever made.

Willettized is the best. Then Imperial Stout Bombers, Cappucino Stout, High Westified, Lagunitas Red, Hop Stoopid, Brown Shugga, Undercover Shut Down Ale and last but not least Gnarleywine.

Ok I'm done walkin down memory lane.
I assume these will pop up all over the place if they do release.
Pro Tip: Use their beer finder .

I won’t quibble with your rankings, especially Willetized. It’s bittersweet because once upon a time, they had arguably the best lineup among the nationally distributed breweries. Those first two batches of BY were unreal though…brightest, most punchy IPA or PA I’d ever had. I do miss Hop Stoopid and the good batches of Sucks.

Sucks in the 32oz bottle was likely my #1 experience with an IPA.

If they are going to release it again, I hope they do it justice!

As a newbie, Born Yesterday and Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale, blew my mind back in the day! Ha!

    Ah...the memories...

I forget what year it was that it first made it here but I was blown away by how quick they got it into distribution.

I want to say it was less than a week from bottling time to when I picked it up, for a national (or almost national at the time?) brewery to pull that off was quite impressive and awesome.

I remember it first in, I think, 2015.

Remember when everyone marveled at it and thought no one else would ever be able to successfully release a nationally distributed New England IPA?

Having now tried fairly fresh (under 60 days) treehouse, trillium, other half, and monkish as well as widely available stuff like the hazy line up from new Belgium or Sierra nevada I'd say people have done a good job of meeting the challenge. Obviously I've got access to local/ regional distribution breweries that come even closer then those large craft brands.

But I never thought of Born Yesterday was a neipa. Just an unfiltered wet hop brew

I would love to see that brew back to the OG. IMHO the last few years have been way off. As a matter of fact last year I purchased a single and gave up on that brew.

There were 2 years…I think ‘15 and ‘16 where it was fully opaque hazy and juicy, punchy, acidic, and bright yellow/orange. Looked like an NEIPA, even if it wasn’t from the yeast or flaked oats. It was great…

Yup, this is what I was referring to. It looked and tasted like a prototypical New England IPA. But it was odd because some batches were like that, and others were simply hazy and looked/tasted completely different.

I think I have pictures of it.

2016 was the year. First pic is the turbid NEIPA looking one. Second is from the same year, but only hazy and not completely opaque. They tasted different too.
