    1) Modist The Time Is Nigh (5.2%): A Festbier from Minneosta aged in oak barrels for flavors of pale Munich malts, some. honey and floral notes with some hints of earthy oak.
    versus
    2) Toppling Goliath Oktoberfest (5.2%): A Marzen from Iowa with flavors of pale Munich, some grains and honey. Dry and crisp finish. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Modist The Time Is Nigh:
Oktoberest battle. Toppling Goliath has impressed me this year with a very standard and drinkable Oktoberfest. I actually though this was a festbier, but pours darker and now listed online as Marzen.
Modist makes some cool beers that is aged in oak barrels and same with their Festbier. A tame festbier but with some fantastic earthy and oaky and lightly floral flavors. Lots of flavors here and still drinks respectably light. Great Festbier nuance from Modist.

Nice view, loved to get up to Sedona periodically in the summer from PHX over the years. I suspect you have been on US89-A which is a great drive to Flagstaff. Be sure to hit Dark Sky, Historic, and Mother Road in Flag. The Majestic Marketplace Bottleshop is a great shop to hit up but be sure to check dates as their inventory is quite large. Have fun!

Enjoying a stellar BBA Barleywine from Jackie O's and a little college football this afternoon.
    Cheers!

Drinking a fine wet hopped ale at Little House Brewing. There's a bridesmaid party here with many hot young women. The beer is good but the view is better. Don't worry, I'm here with my wife. She's better than all of them.

One more for the road (or at least Uber) at Highland Park Brewing since I’ll be drinking wine at the wedding reception tonight: Old Youth, a BA Barlywine/Imperial Stout blend. It’s exquisite in every respect! Today’s only disappointment was Mizzou’s collapse. They should have beaten LSU.

A little North Coast action today for me. I don't have Old Rasputin often, but when I do, I enjoy the f*ck out of it. A beer as legendary as the man himself. You thought Steven Seagal was hard to kill? He doesn't have sh*t on Rasputin. Peace...
