When do the Biergartens close for the season?

We are headed to Munich this Friday (arriving Saturday AM) for a little over a week. I have read some mixed stuff online that the Biergartens shut down following Oktoberfest, but I have also read that they stay open as long as weather remains nice?

As of now, it appears weather will be in the 70's when we are there most likely. Looks like it will be beautiful.

So what is the real answer here? Will we still be able to enjoy all the various outdoor biergartens without issue? When do they close them down for the season and shove everybody indoors? I assume the same for Bamberg as well? (Also visiting on this trip, along with a few other cities... Munich will just be our 'hub').

Side question... Is Munich still cash heavy most places? Our last visit was in 2019, in which it was at the time, but since COVID and all that it seems like many places shifted to more card use. Wondering how much cash I should plan on to carry with me at a time (I know ATM's all over, but just curious!).

    Appreciate it!

It depends where you are. Many around Bamberg close by the calendar on October 1. Just checked, Wilde Rose is closed for the season. Some others with indoor seating stay open, Spezial Keller is one. Others will open on the weekends if weather is nice. Call to confirm.

Late last October we were in Munich and Augustiner Keller was open on a sunny day. A friend was surprised as ii had been closed for some days. Call.

Many places have trouble finding help, and hours are variable. Saw many signs that they were looking for help all over.

Munich is more Kreditkarte friendly than Bamberg. Some places will take a card if the total is greater than 40 €. Other places are cash only. Consider the transaction fees when using the ATM, and we always look for a bank ATM.

Got back home last Friday, so those impressions are fresh.

Arrived in MUC yesterday and went to Augustiner and Lowenbrau Keller. Just beautiful weather, low crowds. For a Saturday, to boot! We been to Augustiner Keller on our last trip, but the fall colors and weather just really enhanced the experience even further. Really liked Lowenbrau (didn't go last trip).

Finished up at Der Pschorr for dinner to close the night off. Also a first time visit this time. The Oktoberfest was phenomenal, as was the Helles from the barrel.

Currently on an ICE to Bamberg for the day. Can't wait to be back in that city!
