What beer are you drinking now? #4008

Veltins Pilsner (4.8% canned 2/2023): An German Pils with flavors of German bread malts, honey, yeast, and authentic Munich malts on the finish.

One of my all-time favorite German Pilsners. Used to win every beer battle, but lately it hasn't done as well as I couldn't find this on the shelf not expired for a long while. Finally found it halfway fresh again. Reminds me why it's so good. Floral, earthy, yeasty, and smooth. New can art and not really a fan. I'm going to have to put it up again against Jever again, which has been my favorite as of late.

German Pils Rankings from today:
1) Fair State Pils: Hard to believe I'm picking this over one of my favorite German Pilsners, but I think it's that good.
2) Veltins Pils: All around complex and authentic German Pils
3) Jester King Pils: Very good still, slightly sweeter, but excellent flavors.

 

Down to my last coupla 6 pks of Steam; I bought 2 cases earlier in the summer when the word came down about Anchor's closing etc
Gonna miss this beer!

Money To Burn - a local Jalapeno Kolsch - big jalapeno flavor and aroma. Nice and spicy as well, really well done. This batch is particularly hot - my lips are atingle ..



Doesn't look like much, but dinner was really good! Small batch kielbasa (from Kayem) with onions, assorted peppers (including jalapenos), and carrots. That small batch kielbasa is excellent!

 

Hello everyone. Always great to be here having an interesting time. Thanks @mschrei for 4008. Mrs. DeWitt and I have just returned from So Dak. I was a good trip. We had the burial for her mother. I placed her ashes & urn into mother earth. We're getting her house cleaned and organized to sell. I had the opportunity to have a few beers along the way which was very nice. One bar I went to...$2 for bottles of Miller High Life. Oh hells yeah. Then had to have a few Fernson Lion's Paw Lagers on tap at the hotel bar. Amazing! The other brew I had is from Yankton: Ben's West Side Park IPA. Delicious! Unpacking now and am slammin' a SN Oktofest Festbier after the 4.5hr drive. Beautiful day for it. Cheers!

Had a nice gathering with a few friends this afternoon to enjoy a couple of growlers and other samplings after our Greenville Beer Run last Friday. We enjoyed a lovely collab TIPA from Incendiary and Eighth State and a 2018 half growler of Willetized from Lagunitas which just edged out the TIPA for beer of the day. Good beer and good laughs were enjoyed.

It's hump day, it's cooling, and I'm feeling FRISKY.

Might be a Jacob's Ladder kinda night _-+ for ABV.

We shall see. First, Cowiche Canyon! I'd agree with other BAs this year's fresh hop from Fremont is a little tamer, but a quality glass brings out the quality grass in this aroma/mouth profile. CONES.
