Thanks - I love those dishes :sunglasses: I don't know if you can get the Kayem brand in CO, they're a local MA company. But damn, that small batch Kielbasa is the best I've had.

...plenty of good sausage places around here...what I really want is to get some bratwurst from Bucyrus, OH (well, I understand Sheboygan, WI has some decent sausage, too)...

Dried banana chip notes huh? I haven't had it in a long time but I never picked up on that aspect. To me, it's always been kind of a meh IPA - like a playing it safe IPA, a well behaved kid in the corner. :beers::sunglasses:

The one type of sausage I can't find around here is rope sausage. There was a BBQ joint around here that used to have a Tex-Mex rope sausage that was superb.

I've always felt like certain beers, special or not, can have interesting notes to them. You're right, though: it is definitely a training wheels IPA.

...I'm not familiar with rope sausage, but generally love nearly any ground mystery meat in a casing...especially smothered in mustard...

Other Half Green City, an IPA. 7% (up a notch)
    Citra, Centennial, Simcoe

Their flagship IPA, and I understand why.

Is it a stand-out? Yes. Is it my favorite buy of the last month or three? oof.... could be.
This just hits different. Not sure I've tasted a beer like this. Yay for GABF rando-drops!

    Cheers

Rope sausage is just a continuous coiled up piece of sausage, not tied off in links.

@LarryV - all I have is questions about that chicken you are choking! Metaphorically, of course.

#2, I bought this a couple of months ago at the brewery in Toledo, and I’m glad I did - big barrel notes, balanced by the obligatory caramel and toffee notes and augmented by delicious cinnamon, ginger, and orange peel flavors.

A lot going on, but it really works on this old beer nerd’s palate.

I think mustard is one of my favorite condiments - you can really get diverse with it. My recent favorite has been Heady Topper whole grain mustard - it's really good imho. I'm on like my 7th jar now - it''s a bit pricey at around $7-8 a jar, but I really like it.
