I think there were around 10 available online the Monday after the release. I was very happy with what I got.

In my opinion, the vast majority of regular stouts aren’t very complex, and instead rather one note. BA’ing adds a lot to them to both give them more complexity, but also just a lot more flavor. And, of course I am in agreement with you, as I think regular BA stouts are usually overly bitter compared to their BA counterparts, which to me balances everything out as well.

Oh no. I often wonder what the next big beer movement would be…meat adjuncts!

I was able to set up a trade with a BA who was going. My understanding is event is a little busy at open, but only a few variants sold out quickly. Most were available for a good chunk of the day and definitely check online store. Several could be ordered last year. Free Will ships anywhere in Pennsylvania.

For free on orders over $50 with coupon code FREEWILLFREESHIP. I may have used that a time or six after I found it.

Dammit…great. Now I’ll order from them to ship to the UPS store when I get my Tavour orders… Might as order Jackie O’s too. Don’t tell my wife I’m spending all the savings.

I wanted a peanut butter stout. IDK, maybe I’m pregnant. My belly does look rather round lately. Lasting Brass Wrath of the Nunchucks. Not as complex as say Thin Man’s BA Peanut Butter Jenkins, but the peanut flavor is strong and fresh like that, and the malt base is semi-sweet chocolate delicious.

Make sure you get Dystopias, a poor man's Utopias and really freaking good. That'll get you right to the free shipping threshold.

I won't talk to your wife if you don't talk to mine.

Im back!! Time to share another impy stout. Im trying to clear space in my cellar for this super awesome BIF that @Beersnake1 is coordinating! Gotta consume some big beer bottles!
This is Barreled Souls out of Saco, Maine and their Deep Space extended aged Imperial Stout. Stayed in Bookers Bourbon barrels for 19 months and 30 days according to the label. Beer is 16.4%. WOO! gonna take my time with this beast!

    onto my review:
Sampling a cellar temp 500 ml bottle poured into my snifter. Beer was bottled on 8/24/2022 and I picked it up at the brewery in October 2022. Bottle has been in my cellar since then.
The beer pours a dark black coffee color, with no light passing through my glass. A small , dense tan head of .5 cm foams up and fades quickly to a thin edge layer.
Aroma is more mild than I had expected for the beer. I do get some roasted malt notes and dark chocolate bar, with some bourbon notes and also hints of molasses and brown sugar. But none of these scents are robust. The ABV is hidden with no fusol or peppery notes. No hops here either.
First sip reveals a medium body and slightly sticky texture. I do get some coating on my palate and also a good covering on my lips with each sip. This all seems fitting for a big BA stout.
Flavor is similar to the nose but here is more robust. Brown sugar and molassess with a big hit of bourbon and some sweet vanilla. A little dark chocolate in the background. Never any hop presence and the ABV is here with a big dose of warming on the finish. This warmth covers my throat and gut on each swallow. Feels like a big beer and makes me sip this one.
The aroma was a bit disappointing, but otherwise this is a tasty bourbon barrel aged stout. glad to have tried this one!

Enjoying a BA stout from Divine Barrel. This is very good, a touch of coffee and chocolate to go with the barrel that lends a touch of vanilla and bourbon that balances very nicely. Rated 4.21.
    Cheers!

Love when you can smell the bourbon without being near the glass. This might be the most consistent BA stout of all time. Always tastes the same (tasty) every single time.

Wow. Not one post since mine!

Ceylon Swirl: Tree House brewing. Blended barrel aged with cinnamon, vanilla and coffee. Had one a few months ago that my sister grabbed for me, and when I went up myself the week later, I had to grab another. Coffee still holding strong. Crazy that it’s still available. TH stouts and barleywine stick around so long because of their hazy rep. But they do these pretty good as well
