@Bitterbill I had to go back and look at my review which in the Overall summary began with "an all out assault on my senses" and ended with "buyer beware"; LOL but rated it a 4.12. I found it char and smoke forward with a cocoa and cherry finish which made the beer for me. What characteristics are still left?
    Cheers!

It's been a crazy day since my first beer. Only planned one, but a bottle fell and I'd say about 3 ozs spilled out but the bottle didn't break so I'm drinking the remaining nine ounces. Passing on a cellar review due to the five hours which lapsed between the time the bottle spilled and finally enjoying now. It's a bit peppery, doing well overall, but I wouldn't save this further.

I ended up having one more beer in my inventory vs. my ongoing count, so I guess it's my lucky day beyond having to count all my beers multiple times to confirm. Still a net win for a free beer.

Now at Vicious Fishes Brewery in Cary, NC.This is the production facility but there are a couple of tasting rooms in this part of the state (what a concept; it blows my Jersey mind). Drinking Here Be Dragons, the brewery’s flagship NEIPA. Not Treehouse level for sure but solid. No complaints. Cheers!

@MacMalt Looks like your having another great trip to our lovely state! The number of quality breweries in this state is mind boggling and the tasting rooms are great. Still annoys me that i was not able to get Sierra Nevada's E.H. Taylor BBA Bigfoot due to archaic NC Label Laws. Big thanks to a fellow advocate who came thru with a bottle for my tasting group to try. Oh yeah, and the ABV limit of 15% which prevents certain Dogfish Head et al from coming into/being brewed in NC. Oh well, first world problems!
On a happier note, have you made it to the Raleigh Beer Garden? I understand they have nearly 400 taps. Would love to go there someday.
    Cheers!

Weichsel, a Rauchbier from German brewery Schlenkerla (4.6%).

As expected, this new offering from Schlenkerla does not disappoint, with a perfect synergy of Rotbier and Rauchbier. The cherrywood smoke is milder, sweeter and fruitier than the traditional beech smoke, but still has that typical campfire character to it.

    1) Warsteiner Oktoberfest (5.9%): A German Märzen that has flavors of Munich bread malts, grains, and toast. Leans sweet.
    versus
    2) Ayinger Oktoberfest (5.8%): A German Märzen that has authentic German hop and malt flavors hops and spices atop toasty, bready caramel malts. Leans dry. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    2) Ayinger Oktoberfest:
Happy Friday German Marzen battle BeerAdvocates. Haven't found Warsteiner in a few years. Up against the best in Ayinger. Warsteiner drinks with some strong and fantastic flavors. Grainy and toasty. Very enjoyable and one of the better German ones. Ayinger has slightly more earthy and caramel flavors. I could go either way, but Ayinger was dryer and more drinkable.

Mooncusser- BBA. The flagship Stout from Viscious Fishes Beer Co., aged in Willet Bourbon barrels. It’s bourbon-forward and very-well crafted. Cheers from Cary, NC!
