Gee, I'm around that town quite often. Wonder what that place is all about.

Fantasy romance novel “concept” theme schtick brewery? I don’t even care what the beer is like, hard pass for me. On the other hand just the other day I added a “want to visit” on my google map for a place just because I liked their glassware. I guess I’m kind of easily amused that way.

They should've run that through a chatbot and asked it to rewrite it as Tolkien or something.

That being said, I'm a short drive away from these cats, so rooting for them!

    1) Something called Van Hassler Brewing looking at an opening in Liverpool this year. No more info beyond that.

    2) 6 Acres Farm Brewing up in Mexico says they're getting close to opening, that's been a few years in the making.

    3) First hearing of this but Simple Motive Brewing opened in June in Yonkers. Beers look real good and the taproom looks beautiful for anyone who's down that way.

Follow up on this, the tap room is still open but according to the lastest newsletter Industrial Arts brewed their last beer at Garnerville in June of 2022.

NYCC in Mamaroneck (same building as Half Time) is in soft opening. Only had a brief time for a pour and can pickup, but the Eager to Nelson by @MarloweAles is tasting great. Light, refreshing, and those nice white wine characteristics of Nelson. If you regularly bought Eager to Share, or if you're a fan of Kane Sneakbox this is a great beer. Extensive food menu as well, plus Half Time itself is right there, so a pretty great 2:1 stop if you're coming from further away. I'm looking forward to being able to make more of a trip out of it (food and more pours, since Marlowe's portfolio included a lot of great sub 7 percent beer styles, including a pub ale that's on tap now). I know shipping via Half Time has been mentioned as a possibility as well so I guess keep an eye out for that especially as weather improves, especially since they can ship outside NY state if that's the case.

    Some notes:

    1) This is a cool one: Deep Fried Beers is taking over Crossroads’ old spot in Athens. It’s a really cool taproom, super spacious, old and homey feel. Looking like an end of year or early next year opening.

    2) Place called Johnson’s Landing Brewing officially opened in Hamburg last week. Place looks fuckin’ huge and the patio overlooks the lake. Whoever is behind this has a looooooot of goddamn money.

    3) 42 North and Community Beer Works both working on new locations in Buffalo. As are Mortalis and Frequentum (as previously noted) so lot to look forward to out there right now.

    4) Lost Creek Brewing coming to North Buffalo which is kind of an underserved area besides Froth.

According to Finback's IG their LIC spot is "almost here." No further details but gives me hope that the promise of late summer won't be egregiously far off.

    Some stuff:

    1) Industrial Arts formally ceasing occupation of their OG location and a place called Round Table Brewing will be moving into the space. A bummer for IA, but I get it, Beacon has way more brewing capacity. Just glad another brewery stepped in because it's one of the most unique taprooms around.

    2) Roc Brewing in Rochester closing. This one stinks. One of the real forebears of the Rochester beer scene and I always got some of their stuff when in the FLX for the summer. Given how much life has sprung into that area, though, I imagine another brewery will try and take that taproom over.

    3) Mortalis Buffalo opening on 10/23.

    4) Frequentum Buffalo doesn't look too far behind, hiring staff now and I'd imagine an open there before Thanksgiving.

Finally got to Union Street in Hudson today and that place is a fucking stunner man. Huge, gorgeous outdoor space, dope indoor space, super varied taplist and the two beers I had (cold IPA and dark mild) both killed it. Gonna have to go back very soon and try out more of the menu.

    Came to post.

Absolutely fucking preposterous. Fidens 10 minutes south and Treehouse 25 minutes North. What an embarrassment of riches.

It's been interesting to see how they've continued to expand versus how other similar breweries (e.g. Other Half) have chosen to expand. This looks like it'll be a cool spot.

Suarez and Tree House will technically be on the same road. The same road an hour apart, but still the same road!
