Last I heard was the Palo Santo wood I the tank gave all it could and after years of service had to be retired. I haven't heard anything about it being replaced, or if it could be replaced.

    Yep, I know, booo…
Nevertheless, I miss Citracado from Stone a lot.
And almost every beer that I had for the first time.
I would love to be the me again who had the SNPA or the Ruination for the first time, will never forget those times when everything was new.

@VABA states here that the wood can’t be legally imported to replace the now-defunct vat. Maybe DFH should build a satellite brewery in Paraguay.

I guess that Arrogant Bastard is still being made, but I have lost all access to it since Stone Berlin closed down, so I'm gonna count that. Damn, I miss that beer. Not only is it excellent, but came at a really great price point for the German craft beer landscape as well.

Drekker Only Mostly Dead. One of my top 5 all time favorite stouts. I think it was a limited release, I sure could go for one now

That was one of the most bitter hopped Stouts ever. And the Wee Heavy!! Oh, such fond memories of those. I still have the labels from the bottles on poster board

My first home brew, at a college party thrown by hippies in the 1970s. My first thought: This tastes like warm spit. But I got used to it. Persistence (and free beer) pays off!

Another vote for Pete’s Wicked Ale. Last I had it was probably 2005ish

And as others have mentioned, pretty much anything brewed by the OG Alpine. Nelson, Bad Boy, Pure Hoppiness. I used to make that pilgrimage fairly regularly to fill growlers when I lived in LA. It was such a surreal experience driving into the mountains east of SD, to this sleepy little town, that just happened to produce world class beers out of a nondescript shack. It was a hike, but totally worth it.

The shelf turd edition, yes. If you are not splitting a bottle many people do not want to drink 2.5 pints of 8% ale.

I remember the first time I had Finest Kind. It was almost like. Strawberry quality it’s hard to explain how floral it was. If I could get it like that in that time period I’d seek it out

Have you had Finest Kind lately? If so, how does this beer today differ from your first experience?

    Cheers!

I agree with what some other posters have said:
Bass ale (imported, from the 90's or earlier)
    Labatt copper was decent
Michael Shea's (my go to beer in the 90's)
    OG Flower Power
    DFH Palo Santo

If I had to pick just one, I would have to say, Bass Ale.
