We will Peter, thank you for the wishes. Porch is still sturdy but still covered in dust, so much organizing and cleaning to do.

I didn’t bring my Leafs glass cause I said “eh no way we’ll be gone by the time hockey starts…” hahah and here we are; but as I said it was a special time there.

Despite the chaos we brought and despite the fact that they live 2 miles away and we see them every day we all got a little emotional yesterday :cold_sweat:

I’m happy my rambling’s brought you some fond memories tonight  and you’re part about being human that is a perfect way to put it.

Oh and for the beer part; let me know if it’s doable I will gladly buy you a beer :beers:

Similar to @ovaltine I am cleaning out old stouts that were purchased for SAN but not taken for whatever reason. And now they are too old to know if they are still accurate to the original intent.
Again, this is pretty good and it poured coffee black (dark brown) with a reasonable beige head which left regular rings of lacing.
The coffee jumped to the fore, I expected more lactose present but maybe when fresh. This was actually a very good coffee stout, just not sure what the Leche is doing.
The feel was very light, not much viscosity which I expected from the lactose, but for a straight coffee stout it seemed good.
OA, another I need to try fresh, but still a solid coffee stout.
That’s 2 of 3 from this brewery that I’d recommend.
    Cheers!

Hmm ESBs. I picked one up today and it might make an appearance here tonight or next week at the latest. I absolutely love the bitterness in them and agree that I wouldn't classify it as hoppy. Could drink them all the time and seriously didn't do England right when I lived there.

Congrats on the reno completion and moving back in!
I too have some bittersweet memories of living with family with a family of my own. Grandparents during covid when I was furloughed and with my bio-dad when I was getting trained up in TX. I certainly think some cultures have it right with multigenerational households, better emotional intelligence, family cohesion, etc. Not always beneficial as I'm acutely aware, but the good times were great.

Mother's Brewing Stone Cold Helper, Cold Style IPA, 5.5% ABV; 3.56 overall

Pours an effervescent gold with one finger eggshell colored head. Average head retention & lacing

S: Grassyness, some light bready notes

T: Follows the nose, some lemony & green melon notes up front. A touch of peach, some green melon & hints of lime as this beer warms up. Crisp finish, with a little lime & green melon

MF: Light/medium body, slight carbonation. Carbonation firms up as this beer warms through, good balance for the style

Easy to drink, a little more flavor than normal for the style, but not one to get excited about

I picked up a 4 pack of those last year and was not impressed; hopefully some time in the cellar will let the flavors settle and blend.
    Cheers!

Stone 27th Anniversary Lemon Shark Imperial IPA, 9.6% ABV; 4.16 overall

Pours a hazed gold with a thumb of cream colored head. Decent head retention & nice lacing

    S: Limes, peaches,

T: Follows the nose, some dryness, some green melon up front, a touch of tangerine also. Lemons, tangerines, grapefruit & a little dryness as this beer warms up, peaches as well, plus a touch of white grape. Finishes with green melon, peach, tangerine & limes

MF: Medium body, very restrained carbonation, great balance

Solid take on the style that really belies the heft of this beer
