What beer are you drinking now? #4023

Good morning @Shanex! Well, that looks pretty nice to me. I believe mine would look like a 6 year old drew it.
I've got the next couple days off, so thought I would join you with a rare early morn beer for me. This is last years New Belgium Oakspire Four Roses BBA 9%. Aged not too badly considered it's been basement temp most of that time. I'm going to hit a local brewery later who specializes in Belgian Euro-style beers. They have a Bière de Garde there I've been wanting to try. I'll see what else I can get into while I'm there. Cheers!

Getting to the end of my Joy Division/Joy Division cover song a day experiment. Two of the last covers will be of this song because they’re my favorite JD covers.

Bottled 5/23/23. Poured at 52°. Five months in my chiller and coffee/bourbon fresh. No plans today, so just chilling. Cheers and have a thoughtful Thursday y’all!

 

Having a little fun on the threads this morning…dipping into my new stash - Parabola (2023) No. 15:



Aged 1 year in an equal combination of of 8 yr old Blanton’s BB and 12 yr old Weller wheated whiskey barrels. Poured at 52°. Very oaky, but layers of bitter roast coffee, sweet bourbon, bittersweet dark chocolate make it worthwhile. Warmth in mouth from 13.5 %. I’ve got a few bottles to age, hoping the oaky barrel notes will back off.

Good afternoon BAs! I'm hanging out at Bold Monk Brewing in Atlanta. Such a cool place with outstanding beers. Highly recommend it if you find yourself in Atlanta.with some time to spare. First beer is My Brother's Keeper Bière de Garde 7%. First time trying this style...and I like it! It's lighter with fruity & spicy esters. Hints of strawberry. Light to medium bitterness. Great warm weather beer for sure. Cheers!

Good afternoon BAs! My lunch beer is Kettlehead’s Dreamstate DIPA:



A very tasty semi sweet no bitterness juice box HazyLite. I’d gladly drink again. Cheers y’all!

 

Half day workday today, so bacon spinach pizza and a Stone Delicious Citrus Ipa.....

 

Their keg of the Flanders Red kicked, but I got a small sample. Virtue of Patience 7.3% Foeder aged. This is normally not my thing, but I like the wood flavor with the tartness. Does a good job of balancing things.

 

Another visit to Physical Therapy. My back is in very good shape, thanks to them. A couple more visits and I'll be discharged.

Triptych Backpack Full of Bees DIPA (Mosaic and raw Star thistle honey from Michigan). When I’m out in these parts, I always try to grab some Triptych. They’re quietly one of the better breweries in Illinois imho. This one is full of grapefruit flesh and peel, bright floral, navel orange, blueberry, red currant, earthy dank, and pine resin. Quite dry throughout, with the honey contributing more flavor than sweetness. A firm bitterness. Awesome stuff.
