You are correct, unfortunately. I should try to monetize my capabilities.

True Anomaly Flanders Redux in the glass. Excellent version of the style, that you don't see often anymore. One of my favorite local beers.

Beautiful night out, beautiful beer in the glass...that calls for THE best album EVER  :sunglasses: That is right, I'm talking about Miles Davis' Sketches of Spain.

    1) Phase Three Blooming Sun (6.2% canned 8/31/23): A WCIPA from Chicago with Centennial, Chinook, Simcoe, for flavors of tangerine, grapefruit, and pine. Some caramel malt. Dry and clean.
    versus
    2) The Veil Vent³ (6.5% canned 8/14/23): A TDH WCIPA from Virginia with CTZ, Amarillo, El Dorado, and Nelson for flavors of juicy grapefruit, white grape, and pineapple. Pine lingers off the end. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    2) The Veil Vent³: WCIPA Battle.
This goes back to the forum thread on "false WCIPAs" courtesy of @MrOH. https://www.beeradvocate.com/commun...ed-of-false-wcipas.674704/page-5#post-7860287
First up is Phase Three Blooming Sun. A WCIPA with traditional C hops. Classic, resinous flavors, some pine, mildly bitter.
Next is Vent³ from The Veil and it's all the fuss. West-Coast, but triple dry-hopped with a bunch of New Zealand. Tons of juicy grapefruit, pineapple, white grape, and pine. Also seems like it has more bitterness, but I think the triple dry-hopping probably plays a role in the hop bite as well. Sort of seems like a hopped-up version of Surly Axe Man.

Admittedly sometimes I have difficulty telling the difference between true bitterness and a dry-hop bite. I think that's why some of these dry-hopped IPAs are labeled as a WCIPA because they do not drink smooth and pack a bite.
Blooming Sun was more traditional, but lacked the appropriate bitterness I expect from a good WCIPA, otherwise it may have gotten the win. I also like tradition, but I have to admit these dry-hopped WCIPAs, or whatever you want to call them, are pretty enjoyable.

Little late replying... I really like OTWOA as well, and wish they made it a little more often. Almost sad I only grabbed one 6-pack - though I am hopeful I’ll get another chance at this batch.

This beer, I got rooked on. Should've hit this market at least 2 months ago. Drinkable, but that is it.

Thought I'd drop the top and make a beer run b4 I put the car away. I did find some Centennial with 30 days on it, bought some, drove away and got rear ended while stopped at a light.
Anyway, I've always enjoyed this beer but haven't bought it in quite some time due to the date on the box, usually it has 6 months or more. Still tasty'n delicious!
