Seems crazy joined this site in 2013, not been active in ages but Tavour started shipping to my area and when trying to find beer reviews was reminded how much I hate untapped and nobody reviewing beers they check in with and have been coming here to search for real reviews. Based in Wausau, Wi.

Things about me when I comes to beer:

if the review says “hides the abv” I don’t want that beer and even if it’s 90 degrees out my go to is a 15% barrel aged stout. Will never not hold bcbs as the gold std of barrel aging(fight me…not really I don’t want to argue) and I own every release of north coast old stock ale from 2000 to 2023 plus the cellar release. At one point the goal was to do the ultimate vert but after so many years just became a cool thing to look at. I was given 2000 to 2002 by the owner when I visited the brewery and that moment is just behind the birth of my child. My daughter was with me and actually asked me “are you crying right now?”

    Nice to meet everyone again

It's great that you've become active again. The more, the merrier around this place.

You know what you like when it comes to digging into this beer culture and almost guarantees enjoyment every time. I do it a bit different by frequently trying new stuff without looking at reviews so I can experience the surprise of finding a good beer. I suppose the reputation of a brewery is a key factor in my decisions. Whatever works for you is the right way to do it.

    Enjoy the upcoming stout season!

If I’m buying in store I’m a little more adventurous but on Tavour I try hedge my bets it’s worth the cost

Welcome back @Beeryurt ! I see you are dedicated to BA Stouts. Perfect time for the season to get started.

Do you pick up / stop at Central Waters (Black Gold, others are excellent) or ever get Wolf or other stouts from 3 Sheeps? Those are my two favorite stout breweries in Wisconsin I'm familiar with.

Tagging a couple two tree Wisconsin peeps.

In addition to @SLeffler27 's great suggested thread, I hope to see you around on the boards, including my regular hang out "What Beer Are You Drinking Now?" and perhaps in the Great Lakes thread if you are looking for a more local conversation.
