this came up on my Fb feed and I’m tempted to buy it for friends. But they like near good brews like Equilibrium so I’m unsure what beers would be in here. Anyone ever try these holiday advent calendar type gifts? https://shop.citybrewtours.com/product/hanukkah-box/
Did you see a list of the beers somewhere in that link? I'd be hesitant to fork over $79 when all you've got to go on is some reviews. (And you don't know if their marketing department wrote them.)
For what its worth i was given one 2yrs ago. I recall the beer being very good with the one in the pic being above average and really enjoyable. None of the advent beer calenders are worth the cost but it does make for a great gift if they like beer. I usually splurge every yr and buy one
These appear to be the beers from the 2022 box fwiw (based on the recorded livestream youtube videos linked on the site): Allagash Brewing Company - North Sky Leikam Brewing - Janis Hoplin Uinta Brewing Co - Yard Sale Winter Lager Falling Knife Brewing Company - 365 Days of Incidents GoodLife Brewing Company - Sweet As! Pacific Ale Exhibit 'A' Brewing Company - Weights & Measures Equilibrium Brewery - MC² Sockeye Brewing - Angel's Perch Amber
$80 plus shipping I’m guessing. Better be some great beers in there because I can buy 8 amazing beers for less than that. Enjoy
I can speak to the Uinta as it's local and I've had it many times. A 4pk of it sells for $10.99 and think that's a tad high. It's good, but clearly not worth $10/single. Granted other costs are associated with mixed packs like that.
I did the 12 days of Christmas last year. I think shipping was ~$30 plus the $96. Imho, I didn't think that it was worth it. Ymmv.
No way I'm dropping 80 bucks plus shipping for 8 mystery beers. As W once said, "Fool me once, ya fool me can't get fooled again."
The thing is, there are so many more people with "F you" money now than just 5 or so years ago. This group wouldn't think twice about dropping that much money on a beer box with shipping. Breweries, being a business, should fully capitalize on that- don't blame them..
Now that's a branding/marketing opportunity. Introducing the 'F you' box of beers. You send us a wad of $, we send you some beers in a box. You might enjoy these beers or you might not. Either way, by purchasing this box you've clearly demonstrated you don't give a F.
I've seen it where you can buy the empty advent box and then fill it with whatever beer you want from that place so basically the cost of the box is the added cost or you can have them fill it for you based on certain price points. If you know them well enough then buying the box and filling it yourself may be the better idea.
