Back at Boss Rambler on this beautiful Monday and getting into a couple of stouts

1) Veltins Pilsner(4.8%): An authentic German Pils with flavors of German bread, honey, yeast, and authentic Munich malts on the finish. Smooth.
versus
2) Jever Pilsener (4.9%): An authentic German Pils with flavors of pale Munich malts, earthy, grassy, and lightly floral notes. Bitter finish. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
2) Jever Pilsener: German Pils Battle that feels appopriate for this beautifully warm November day. Veltins has traditionally been my favorite German Pils. Couldn't find it fresh for a while until now. Pours more beautifully than any pilsner I've seen. Smooth and bready malts. Not quite a hoppy as I remember.
Jever is similar. Slightly more earthy and floral flavors. Also more bitter, which I think gives it the win here for the German Pils category. Both are great German Pilsners that I wish had better distribution here in the US.

After lurking for a long time on here, I'll finally post my first beer on what I am drinking now. Full disclosure, I was drinking this beer a couple of hours ago, but I was struggling with how to upload images to the forum. I think it finally works!



As for the beer, it's a NEDIPA by the name of VERDE. This is a beer by a tiny brewery in the North of the Netherlands called Floem and is perfect for unwinding after having been soaked on the bike ride home in Amsterdam on a chilly November day. Here's to many more beers on BA!

 

Bought my annual sixer, just might buy another!

 

Had my weekend shifted so just now sitting down to my "Saturday" afternoon drink. Enjoying this lager from Jack's Abby and putting together a write-up for this week's NBW after missing out the past two days.
