Drinking another great beer from @sulldaddy in the recent barleywine/stout BIF! Dark Adaptation from Branch and Blade Brewing. Great stuff!

:astonished: Man, how far out in the Michigan sticks are you? I would have thought Hop Slam would be more readily available in your home state. Permanent Funeral, maybe not so much depending on the area.

I tried to upload an MP4 of the nitro doing its thing, but failed...
No widget, just a little shot of nitrogen before canning.

Lags Born Yesterday. Barring some miracle. I will pull of the rare quad-fecta of all my teams losing this weekend to include my Fantasy, Damn You Travis Kelce! ( Probably more injured than they let on ).

Schlenkerla (Heller-Bräu Trum) - Aecht Schlenkerla Helles Lagerbier. It's a unique beer, initially quite smoky on the nose, kind of peaty and metallic, but the effect is lessened as you drink it. Super cool that there's actually no smoked malt in the beer. It's super flavorful for a 4.3% beer!

Here's a new offering from LTBC.

    12 ounce bottle packaged 10/25/23.

Moderate pour yields a 1/2 inch light tan head over a near black body with lacing.

Nose of roasted malt, chocolate malt, maple, and slight whiskey.
As it warms the whiskey aromas come forward.

Taste is maple and chocolate with whiskey.
As it warms all the flavors become more pronounced.

Mouthfeel is thinner than I had hoped with light to medium carbonation.

Overall, a pretty nice example of the style and would recommend giving it a try.
    Cheers!

Your right he is playing on Taylor Swift Endorphins and now that are now they are subsiding and he is feeling the pain. I know this as an expert KC Chiefs fan.

I usually like the Monster, but to each their own. I will note that unless release patterns have changed, that beer is normally released in April. Not a beer I’d suggest drinking at that age. Cheers.

Crushing Mass from 3 Floyds. Really good stout. Coffee and roastiness up front. Would probably follow up good with a French Toast Bastard.

LOL not that far out there. Up in Fenton (about 15 mins south of Flint). Hopslam is available all over the place but everybody up here wants $17-$18/sixer. Total Wine has them for $15 so might as well save a few bucks.

Also heads up Stone has a $5 rebate for their Delicious Mixed 6 Pack. Those are $9.50 around here so basically free with the rebate . https://app.cm.ourcart.com/stonebrewingipa?d=delicious_5off

Has a date of 6/24/23 on the bottom of the can. Not sure if that's a best by date or a canned on date. That might make sense that it's a little old. Picked it up a local party shop a couple weeks ago when I couldn't find anything else I was looking for.

Great Lakes uses Best Buy dating. Try again in spring. You may still not like it, but it will taste different. Cheers.

Ahh yea definitely way old then. Thanks for the heads up - I didn't even check the date. Rookie mistake.

GLBC is one of the breweries I rarely buy as always chasing something from a Michigan brewery. I'll try to make a mental note to look for it again in Aprilish. Cheers man!!
