    Hello everyone,
quick morning foray between a finished job and one to start.
These are the two notes I made on a beer that if for some Advocates of you is quite easy to find, I assure you that in my area it is not.
Perhaps it is for this reason, in addition to the good memory of other beers of the same style that I appreciated SO MUCH, that I had placed a few more expectations on her.

Anderson Valley Brewing Company (Boonville, California, USA) - WEST COAST IPA - (6%)

35.5 cl can (€3.69 per can, I bought three and this is the very first one I've opened).
Recommended consumption date: 06 April 2024.
Inquiring before opening it I found these official instructions on the brewery's website:
    "First year of production: 2022.
    Availability throughout the year.
    Hops: Sultana, Eureka, Lotus
Malts: Pale Two-Row, Pilsner, Midnight Wheat
    ".

Freshly uncorked, aromas of malt (biscuit) and hops (herbaceous, woody).
Still poured in predominance to the sense of smell a sick profile.
Versata is a deep golden colour, tending towards orange, rather opaque.
Little foam and of normal consistency.
In the mouth, medium body, tending towards full in which the aromatic profiles of the hops initially prevail: pine needles, resin, herbaceous. However, there is a more biscuity and sweet hint of malt in the accompaniment to a dry finish which I would have liked to be characterized by a more pungent bitterness. In reality, as soon as you swallow it, a herbaceous and slightly bitter taste remains on the tongue while a sweeter, almost caramelized and even alcoholic, sickly scent emerges on the palate.
However, the mouth cleans up quite quickly, also because the resinous taste that remains on the tongue helps.
Good, perhaps I would have expected a little more from the point of view of the intensity of the bitterness or in any case some more characteristic distinctive element, for example I remember I was amazed by the JUICY WEST by Croocked Stave... A little anonymous (partly reminds me of Baladin beer POP), but still quite satisfying to drink.

But I wanted it MUCH more bitter and characterized by hops.

    Good day!

Busy morning until about purchasing Westmalle Tripel, physical therapist is done, osteopath too. Quick errands done.

Feeling much better despite this typically fall weather. The osteopath is a two or three appointment a year routine. Greatly helps for my back.

    Cheers!

    G'day all!

So, I am waiting for Celebration and Jubel Ale to show up, this favourite of mine beat them to the punch. I picked up 3 bottles that totalled just shy of US$30. I want more.

    Prost!

Nice warm day again here. Played a horrible round of golf, but it was still good to be outdoors with friends.
Enjoying an Elevated after the round.

    Good Afternoon Advocates!

Cool blustery day here taking down leaves faster than I can clean them.

Been ages since I had this classic. BB date almost a year from now, so guessing pretty fresh!

I just bought a 4pack of Lush and it seems way off. I know i’ve had it before, but don’t think it was like this. I definitely know Plush is top notch tho

Mind you, that was the first American stout I’ve tried and it greatly impressed me then. Never found it again ever…

    1) Ayinger Bräuweisse (5.1%): A German Hefeweizen with flavors of bread spices, clove, orange spice, bubblegum, yeast. Dry and clean.
    versus
    2) Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier (5.4%): A German Hefeweizein with flavors of orange spice, yeast, bread spices, cloves. Slightly sweeter. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Ayinger Brauweisse
: German Hefeweizen Battle. Ayinger up first and the #4 ranked Hefeweizen on BeerAdvocate. Last year when I did this battle I thought it was missing something. Today I think it nails all the attributes. Bready, spiced, and yeasty.
Next is Weihenstephaner and my favorite. Ranked #1 on BeerAdvocate. Very similar, but slightly more orange citrus and sweetness. For whatever reason the citrus adds a bit of sweetness and not quite as drinkable, but I could see it improving as I let it warm. For now, Ayinger was more impressive than I remember and gets the win.

Hello friends! Thanks @Jack_14 for today's thread. My eyes and taste buds have been fixed on this fine day for I need to sample beers, scribble down notes, and not hump my drum kit. Should probly do a little bit of yard work...Picking up where I sort of left off with Weihenstephaner 1516 Kellerbier. Very delicious, very malty. Cheers!
