What beer are you drinking now? #4036

Earth Rider Allouez (6.1%): An American Amber Ale from Wisconsin with flavors of rich bread, amber malts, sweet caramel. More complexity as it warms.

Anytime I see a dark ale from anywhere far up north, I usually know it's going to be good. It's cold up there, so they probably know how to brew some good and warming, hearty ales. First try at this one from Earth Rider. Definitely rich bread, amber malts, sweet caramel upfront as usual. As it warms though has an earthy dark fruit, woodsy, and slightly roasted flavor. They describe coffee. I don't get much of that. More woodsy. Definitely complexity as it warms. This is enjoyable.

Last one today. Aqua Dementia - Pantown Brewing - St. Cloud, MN - American IPA - 7.3% ABV

From a 750ml crawler purchased at the brewery:

Pors a very murky and hazy light golden color. Not much clarity when I hold it to the light. The head is white, and 1 finger. Long lasting head. No lacing on the glass.
Nice citrus aroma. I do get a good hit of orange. Notes of oak hit on the nose.
Taste - There's a good hop citrus flavor rigght away. Lots of grapefruit and pineapple. The orange hits next and the orange lingers, and while mostly tart, there's some sweetness. The finish has a hint of the oak in it that adds a woody, outdoors character to this beer.
The body does seem lighter, but not watery. Smooth and slightly soft feeling.
Not bad at all and a very interesting beer.

 

Well BA's I've come to realize I drink a bit of Miller Lite each week. Must be cause it's less filling.......at Shuckers.

This is a really nice beer. However it leaves me with a feeling that when I bought it I wasn't wearing any pants or perhaps there was a talking bird roosting on top of my head...and nobody told me. ?Por que? you say...Well, a few days after getting the beer home I shared one with a friend. As we were enjoying the F out of it I realized that there are no bottling or expiration dates anywhere to be found on the bottles or 6 pk carrier. See where I'm going here? Fresh huh. I'm not knockin' the beer. It's kill. Hops might be fresh but I've no idea when this offering was made. Gotta laugh at myself! Lagunitas Born Yesterday Fresh Hop Ale. Cheers!

This was a test to see how good their beers hold up. I want fresher cans but these have to be cleared before they get more so I'm clearing the shelves for my future self. As I was hoping nothing off to make you think it's aged.
