At Great Heights Brewing this afternoon. They had their 6th Anniversary yesterday, I always avoid big crowds so just went today. Still had everything in a much more chill atmosphere ha.

    Six Is Good IPA

Their monstrously big 6th Anniversary Imperial Stout, aged 15 months in bourbon barrels, with vanilla.

Reviews over at the NBW thread. They are both good, but not great. The 6th Anniversary Imperial Stout is too much like a dense vanilla cake mix.

Celebration = darker malt, drier hops
Born Yesterday = lighter malt, greener hop profile

Man, that one’s tough but I think I’d choose Celebration due to the much longer shelf life and its consistent quality every year. But if I was stuck with Born Yesterday, I wouldn’t be mad at all. What about you??

Then their Deacon Brodie. Which is a Scotch Ale named after a long standing pub in Edinburgh. Which I have been to before, and always liked. The same owners also on the Cafe Royal Circle Bar, which is one of my favorite pubs anywhere.

Anyway, this is a pretty good example of the style. Reminds me of old school Shilling beers that I would have a lot in Scotland.

About half way though Jon Fosse's Septology. Seven novels, all connected by one continuous sentence...oh yeah

Needed some grub, stopped off at The Upside Pub for a sandwich. Had Saint Arnold's Irish Stout, but unfortunately it is on Nitro, and like anything on Nitro, it is a pale imitation of what it is with actual carbonation ha. Oh well.

Watching some football on the deck, both for FF and sports betting. Enjoying a hazy 3 hop from Drekker.

Next up on this 65 degree, breezy and almost misting night is a Zombie Ice and it's great! I could sit outside with music in this weather for hours, but alas another week of work beckons.....

I agree chef, the bike had to have cost at least $2,500 so prolly a young guy on his way to work. I keep replaying it in my mind and can't help but think maybe he had a medical incident prior to hitting the curb.

Hop Butcher Peak Nelson TIPA (100% Nelson). Not the best showcase of the hop, but it’s still quite enjoyable. White grape juice, passionfruit, dankness, pineapple smoothie, earthy pine resin.
