Welcome to the seedy underworld of craft beer. Shockingly, there's also a secondary market where people charge well over MSRP without having done any blending at all.

 

I'd be curious about the law on this. Obviously this country has a myriad of puritanical prohibitionist shit left on the books.

 

I'm sure anything prohibitive at this point is more about revenue than morals.

 

Are they really a brewer though? Home or otherwise. We need a new vocabulary term for this. Someone make a funny.

 

Can't speak to the variants, but the taproom is closed Mon and Tues so if everything is still on tonight, Wed should be fine.

 

An Adjuncter?

 

This would be like home-brewer’s selling their beer so I don’t see how that is legal. If they are “sharing” it with members who then individually sell it on a third party website like MBC I can see how they are getting around it.

 

They sound like masterblenders to me

My yearly homage to the Chicago porter G.O.A.T. -- Eugene is tasting superb. Perfect fall beer (although I wish it was still a year round treat).

 

From my understanding, they do a barrel pick from the breweries and then they adjunct them. They put their own labels but do not take any credit for brewing the beer. They do sell the beers but to cover their expenses. I do not believe they profit from these beers. They also do bourbon picks. Again this from my understanding and I could be completely wrong.

 

We plebes can't even get a crowler, but these guys get an entire barrel?

I don't think all these breweries are giving them barrel picks. Perhaps a few. But the Dark Lord ones I know they opened a bunch of Dark Lord bottles and dumped them in a barrel. That was my impression for the Bourbon County variant ones too. They just get a bunch of reg BCBS, dump it with adjuncts then re-bottle.

 

Put these people in prison.
