    Expedition aged is much better than fresh IMO. I don't find a lot of beers that actually improve much with age, but this is one of them!

    I tend to agree. The one stout that comes to mind is 2019 BCBS. It was good fresh, but I came back to it after two years and it was definitely elevated. Still have one left. American barleywines also come to mind, but "better" might not be a term everyone would use (some like the extreme hops, others the malty sweet goodness). They definitely morph into something very different than fresh.

    The 2018 Vanilla and Orange had their flavor drop off noticeably by summer of 2019, but never faded completely. They'll still have some vanilla flavor, but notably less than when they were fresh. Still, you'll have no problem finding a new home for them, though certainly not a forever home. :wink:

    Working on Finback's Banana Drip- A delicious imperial stout sent my way from @Roguer in the barleywine/stout BIF! Super inviting nose leads to a tasty profile with great banana and peanut butter presence. Balanced out by roast and not overly sweet. Really good stuff :beers:

    Southern Yankee (Houston, TX) Nan’s Pie imperial stout- aged in blackberry brandy barrels. Nice warming boozy blackberry finish. Great after hockey beer!

    Thoroughly enjoyed this one last night - Saint Errant Brewing - Rare Form - a blend of two Imperial Stouts rested for 16 months in Blanton's barrels and 19 months in Thomas Handy Rye barrels.

    This guy that ca sometimes be an asshole, but he has my taste preferences dialed the heck in . I really enjoyed this walking around the local park (Echo Park Lake) on an unusually cold LA night .

    Everything about it was perfect, i am jealous of you Illinois guys SOMETIMES.

    After laying down some base with a Russian River Shadow of a Doubt Imperial Porter (9.6%) I’m now on to a Grimm’s Double Negative on tap at Monk’s in Philly. Nice. Uncomplicated.

    I've never had Ralphius , but i have a Heaven Hill( i think) one Sull Daddy sent me from a few trades ago. He had been holding it for me for a while, too. What a fuckin guy .
