@DEdesings57 - I have a nearly complete beer-style glass collection that I've thrifted, each glass only about $0.75
I still need a champagne flute (not quite a priority for me) and an IPA glass.
Though my fake Pretentious (brand) glass isn't as scientific, I can notice hops significantly more and a swirl of the glass gives a immediate rise in the foamy caps on nearly all ipas I've used it with, and it was a hell of a better deal Plus I'm not nearly as heartbroken when one of them breaks.

I'll try and post a pic later today.

interesting brew - apple crisp inspired ale, aged in rum barrels!

Good afternoon, all! I'm drinking this and you're not: Sconnie Smash! from Wisconsin Dells Brewing, an ale flavored with Wisconsin cherries and cranberries. Silver medalist at the 2018 WBC in the Fruit Beer category. Makes a great pairing with hot dogs and chips. (Hey, this ain't the Ritz.) Come to think of it, this would make a great pairing with Ritz crackers and Wisconsin cheese. Cheers!

...that minor major 7th

 

1) Weihenstephaner Original Premium (5.1%): A German Helles with flavors of pale Munich malts, grassy and honeyflower notes. Yeast and balanced finish.
versus
2) Klosterbrauerei Andechs Vollbier Hell (4.8%): A German Helles with flavors of pale malts, orange, bread and bread spice. Yeasty, sweeter, and smooth. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

Winner:
1) Weihenstephaner Original Premium: German Helles Battle. Done this battle a few times , and it's usually a toss-up but Andechs seems to win. Today, Andechs seems to almost have some hints of hefeweizen yeast flavors. A bit sweeter. Not quite as I remember. Weihenstephaner seems more refined, cleaner, and lighter. The exact opposite of what I found last time. I wonder if age has something to do with them. I have about zero positive predictive value of getting these right in a blind taste test.

Good Day All!

Kings Brau Triple IPA.,, Cheeers!

Brasser en France. 8% ABV. A house brand for Intermarche supermarkets, this hoppy Belgian is drinkable; there is a nice balance between sweet and bitter.

I notice a couple things about stronger French beers.,. they use hop extract to juice the flavor, and bottle conditioning is a thing. It extends the beer’s shelf life. ‘Best by’ date for this one is 4/11/2025. There’s a little yeasty silt in the bottle that I’m not used to with American versions of ‘hoppy Belgians’.,.

I continue to explore and learn.,,
