    Good morning and happy Friday to Tutti Advocates,
    returning from an off-site job, a quick stop in a country local/market where I also found a small offer of craft beer and so... why not?
    I chose a bottle of a style that wasn't so easy to find, but ultimately had very little of that style. Although not bad to drink outdoors in this country atmosphere.

    Birra Contromano (Roma, ITA) - American Alt Bier (4,7%)

    33 cl bottle (4,50€). On the nose, the smell of malt (lightly toasted, bready) and more herbaceous and citrus aromas of hops.
    Versata is a deep blonde colour, slightly amber but more golden than red, with foam that is not too abundant but still soft and doesn't disappear on its own.
    In the mouth the first impact is dominated by a malty taste (taste of bread, a light toasted nuance and hints of walnuts and almonds) which is quickly followed by a more herbaceous and citrusy taste which brings the beer to a dry and clean finish.
    Perfect carbonation that makes drinking light and fresh.
    I expected a more evident contribution from the malts (especially with more evident toasted notes), as well as a more amber and intense color
    Not very faithful to the original German style (in fact it is called "American Altbier")... but pleasant to drink.

    Chocolate malt nose and taste. Poured at 56°. An enjoyable change of pace sitting on the back patio this morning. Cheers and have a great day y’all!

    TGIF BA's! Thanks @Jack_14 for #4045. Interesting to see an American Alt Bier. I don't recall seeing any non-German Altbier here.

    Starting easy with a Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest Festbier on a relatively warm day.

    -Look: Beautiful deep-orange hazy color with a clumpy, creamy head.
    -Aroma: Bursting with grapefruit zest and sweet citrus!
    -Taste: Delicious and forceful grapefruit and orange hops, pale malts.
    -Feel: So soft, full and round, slippery, mildly astringent.
    -Overall: Bright hop-candy slurped through clumpy, pillow-soft foamy goodness!

    Coffee flavor punches through rich stout flavor with this beer. Bold and tasty.

    I guess it's Horns Up Friday! Thanks @Jack_14 for 4045. I'm not digging coffee the past few days. That's one thing I could probly cut out completely and not mind. However, I will not stop luvin' Lakes & Legends sea salt & caramel Stout. Cheers!
