A shout out to @The_Kriek_Freak for this local Belgian brew! This is a surprise beer with a nice lingering bitterness making it interesting for the style!

Perhaps its just me but you seem to have a short, sweet, but convincing way of describing a beer.
This one is rather nice is a vote of confidence to me. Just something I noticed

SA Cold IPA. One of only two beers from the Beers for Cheers VP that’s actually worth drinking.

Done with dinner and having a Second Fiddle. I have some Heady and Focal Banger in the fridge, but honestly, I prefer this over both of them.

What's your thought on that one? I have some and have only had one can so far - I thought it was decent, but lacking in flavor and robustness. I also thought I tasted some lactose in it as well. I don't think I would buy it again as I think there's much better stouts out there. Cheers!

I haven't had New Belgium Trippel in a long time. Had to find my NB goblet for this auspicious occasion.

More deep cuts of Eric Dolphy, this time with Ken McIntrye's Looking Ahead.

Oaked Vanilla Porter. Both of these beers I would buy again in a heartbeat.

Something crisp, malty, and little watery to follow up that delicious Cold IPA (which went down WAY too easy)

That's too bad. I have not had this year's Winter Lager yet, but it's one I like every year.

My palate is pretty unrefined but, after the first few sips this has me thinking of a slightly sweeter Guinness.... sweet chocolate. FWIW: I've never been much into stouts but am making a bit more effort to imbibe; consequently, my range is limited. I do know enough to know that I like dry stouts. Cheers

Have a good Monday. I drove back to Ohio on Saturday. Read the Stephen King memoir and part of the Alfred Hitchcock bio which are both amazing. Staying at my dad's with mom and Julia now. We went to the canal grill on the corner.

Prato pizza and chicken/jojos last night.

Breckenridge Christmas ale with cinnamon added. This is a great beer. Been a few years probably since I had it. Like a robust English style red ale with great cinnamon presence and balance. Lt med pine/herbal bitter and cinnamon spiciness finish. 4/5

Yeah - your description is pretty much spot on with me. I miss the bitterness that Guinness has. it adds a bit more depth imho. I didn't particularly find the Lawson's on the dry side - maybe medium-dry, despite the name. Cheers!!

I think all of that is the impact of nitro. Smothers aroma and flavor. And adds to mouthfeel.
