Was surprised to see the 2022 thread only had 2 pages. anyone been here lately? Anything good on their current to-go menu? curious of the state of the state - am tempted to pick up some of their stuff for old time’s sake. hopefully they’re doing well!
I head over there about once every two weeks. There are roughly 7 breweries in this small radius so I try to alternate. I can't believe I am typing this but yes, they are doing really well with some styles. I am not into milkshakes, slushies or really even "hazy" beers. I'll try the DDH IPA's and they don't hit the spot for me. That said, I only buy P3 hazy beers, if that is any barometer. For me, they have produced some great lagers over the last year, which are priced well at the taproom. There are almost always barrel aged beers on tap which have honestly been overwhelmingly good. The Togo prices are insane but you can try a small pour there. Atmosphere has been great, they have really come a long way...
They lost me when the bowed to the Sundae Yummy Sundae name pressure. Understandable when you see what it costs to ship beer to West Africa these days.
I had never tried any of the Pick of Destiny series, but I tried the Beer on the Wall collab (single Weller barrel) last weekend, and it was really solid. One of the better BA stouts I've tried in a while.
Just wanted to say that the new Bottle Logic collab Confection Affection is a near perfectly executed BA pastry stout. They hit exactly the ice cream cone flavor they were going for, yet it somehow wasn't overly sweet (by pastry stout standards). I highly recommend it. The single barrel ISLBS in the Absinthe barrel.... not so much.
Collab BA stout with Toppling Goliath- 22 months in 18 year Willett Family Reserve barrels. Live on Oznr now. Coming off a silver medal at Fobab to Mehndi, I’m in.
I even bought a bottle and I haven’t bought anything from Mikerphone in a very, very, very, & very long time.
Eh I'm still yet to be wowed by anything I've had from them, including the beer that won silver at FOBAB. I definitely think their BA offerings have improved overall though.
The secret is they've actually being doing great non-adjunct ba stouts the whole time, they just never get any hype.
