Just a quick thread on Ipswich Ales downsizing (merging?) with RiverWalk.

I suppose with the recent chatter on breweries closing, it only makes sense to also focus on the ones doing what's necessary to stay afloat.

Sucks to hear. Immediately started wondering if we'll all taste a difference in the oatmeal stout being made elsewhere and by different hands.

Eh, it’s nothing literally dozens of other breweries are doing. Who isn’t contracting these days?

I believe Riverwalk is already doing more than a few contracted brews.

It's more that it's Ipswich contracting someone else to brew for them that's noteworthy. They've been a staple new england brewery for 30+ years and were usually the ones contract brewing for others.

Tons of underutilized space in the Riverwalk Brewery. Makes sense to me. Hopefully the Oatmeal Stout will taste exactly the same.

Hopefully Ipswich beers will be on in that pleasant taproom.

Eek, hopefully this works out for the best. What a turn around from when they seemed to be the go-to place for smaller brewers to contract with.

I'm confused about what they're doing with their space though. The taproom is pretty well built into the guts of the brewery space if I'm remembering right so it would seem tricky to keep that and get rid of everything else.

Has anyone been to Riverwalk's brew pub "The Falconer" in Beverly?

I hate to admit how long I go back with the Oatmeal Stout. It's always been one of my go-to representations of the style.

I can only hope that they one day decide to resume distribution of the Oatmeal Stout to Connecticut. That is a top notch beer for me and I'd love to have some in my fridge again.
