The AABC thing happening in SEPTEMBER is hilarious but yep just one side of things so far. Kinda feel bad for the people that cashed out in 2016.

    Lawsuits were better in Monson.

Not a lawyer either, but this sure sounds like the plaintiff is simply mad that the business has chosen to prioritize things other than dividends.

As to your other point, I noticed recently that the same friendly guy (short, light brown hair, glasses, extremely enthusiastic about Very Green) who poured me my first ever draft at Charlton in 2018 was still pouring drinks and fetching cans there last month. I've noticed other people reappearing behind the bar year after year as well. Small sample size to be sure, but it's hard to imagine people would be staying in these jobs for 5+ years if they weren't being paid fairly.

That said, maybe I've got rose colored glasses. Tree House gives an appearance of being one of the few businesses that does right by their people and their customers - and maybe I just desperately want to believe that it's true in a world of corporate skullduggery.

On the @Hazeboiz Instagram page, there is an interaction between two people, one of whom is a lawyer (@BeerAtLaw) that breaks down things nicely.

To me -- regardless of outcome -- this is going to do the same exact thing the #MeToo thing did in craft beer: get some people on niche message boards fired up; to which others will say, "I don't care, I love [brewery X];" Meanwhile the general public who doesn't go on BA or read newspapers won't know or care.

There are maybe a handful of longterm employees working foh, over the last few years they’ve had a fair amount of people leave for places like Fox Farm, Fidens, and other local breweries. I know a few employees and former employees personally. I hang out with them, outside of work. They leave because they don’t really see raises, or opportunities to climb within the organization. Given the size of Tree House, and the management structure, they simply prefer working for smaller breweries for the same salary.

Not suggesting it’s right or wrong (if true), that they pay what ever other brewery pays, but, given their success, you’d like to hope that they compensate loyal staff better. But again, business is business.

I can only imagine what their access points cost. They'll need ones that can handle 150+ clients!

Not a lawyer either so grain of salt, but that is mentioned only to show how the top shareholders (Nate and Damien) benefited when they created a real estate company, bought land, then leased it to Tree House and had Tree House pay their real estate company millions for rent. His (2% shareholder) legal point is that Nate and Damien earned millions when they secretly made money from TH through this other company. And they *seem* to acknowledge that by admitting they didn't tell anyone about the real estate company.

I would imagine TH can afford pretty good lawyers. I wouldn't imagine anything really coming of this unless there's some real substancial evidence of illegal activity. Possibly a settlement which is probably what they're after anyway

Considering the crap being throw around about breweries and brewers just a short time ago that stepped into the terribly category.

I’m ok with Nate making money.

I also met a family member of someone who was starting at treehouse in a manger role in Tewksbury. We happen to sit with them having a beer and chatting. The individual was training so we didn’t meet them. If what I was told was around the true salary, this individual is doing quite well. Not sure what other brewery locally would touch it.

Also not a lawyer but reading through the complaint this jumped out to me as well. They setup the 2 real estate LLCs in 2016 and did not admit it until 2022 after the Tree House LLC had already paid them almost $10 million and they also agreed to transfer the real estate back to Tree House, which along with hiding the real estate companies existence seems to be an admission of some sort of wrong doing. Not sure of the legality of any of that but seems pretty sketchy.

Wonder what kind of evidence of this he has. I'm sure the paper trail can be followed. Are there public records that can prove this? Otherwise, not sure how this person would have information confirming it

All land records are public, but it doesn't really matter since that's not in question. They got caught and admitted it.

Here's a tip: If Damien asks for your signature, read the document first!

Maybe Nate will do a new Youtube segment on it. ‘How to property fraud’

Feel like I was just told Santa is not real. Read the whole complaint, in my opinion it is not a good look for Tree, after seeing all the Youtube videos I had higher thoughts of Nate and Tree. It dose seem it is about the money and not the beer. But still all and all they have done an unreal job of building the brewery and I there beer is like no other! It is a same that they could not include Eric.
