Off Color Brewing Tooth & Claw Dry Hopped Lager 5%ABV Chicago, Illinois. It’s a Field Museum beer @ChicagoJ

 

I have been meaning to do this since I got the Ommegang/New Belgium Tripel. A side by side with the classic New Belgium Trippel.



Belgian Essence, 8.4% ABV: More cloudy orange/yellow. Big yeast aromas and flavors. Esters of apples and pears, peppery spice, and doughy malty flavors. Well carbonated, but becomes ultra smooth.

Trippel 8.5% ABV: A clearer pour, golden in color. This has yeast and ester characteristics as well. Though the esters are more banana like, and this is a bit sweeter overall. Effervescent carbonation, actually super carbonated. I think the carbonation makes this seem a bit lighter.

I don't think one is better than the other. Both are very fine examples of the style from American breweries. Ommegang's presence has all but disappeared around me, and I would love to have some of their classic Belgian styles easily available again. This also reminded me of how much I liked New Belgium's Trippel to begin with, and will be getting this on a more regular basis...cause I don't want this to go the way of a lot of the American attempts at making Belgian styles lately.

All that said, need more tunes...another one of my favorite vocal jazz albums. Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Jerome Kern Song Book.

 

I don’t know but to me it seems like they liked the idea of a consultant/ trainer temporarily and weren’t up front with you.

 

Yes - the Amazon series. Just watched episode one before realizing the UVa game was on (and we're struggling/succeeding in the same way I fear we will all season).

Ok TC, I tried to google "lovely wife quotes" but this is all I came up with. If your wife sees it and likes it's from Ocalafox, if she she see's it and goes berserk......it's from @DoctorZombies.......and Google says.......A good wife is one who serves her husband in the morning like a mother does, loves him in the day like a sister does and pleases him like a prostitute in the night. Happy is the man who finds a true friend, and far happier is he who finds that true friend in his wife. Ehhhh......not speaking from experience here buddy.......

 

Ate an early dinner, sun just set ,enjoying an Half Acre Deep Moat 4 hop double NEIPA on the balcony .

 

Hop Butcher dessert beer, though not necessarily sweet, Minted. Flavor is right on as they used the actual Frango mint oil.

@ATL6245 1 thing iv noticed with Altstadt is the craftsmanship. Every beer iv had has made me want a 2nd well balanced German style beers. This is good stuff liter would go down easy. My Thanksgiving beer to, optd over celebration. Cheers!
