    Side Project BBT VW and OWK b2. I know the OWK carries a little bit more clout but the BBT VW was so amazing.

    I am so sorry for inadvertently posting two intended WBAYDN posts (Revolution Cold Time & Sierra Nevada Celebration) in this thread last night.

    I meant no disrespect to the great participants in this thread, nor did I intend to insult Imperial Stouts in any way.

    I have reported and requested removal of these posts to restore proper decorum. I thank those kind enough to provide the grace and forgiveness to accept me in the future, and pledge to try my best to never let you down in this manner again.

    This is a pastry stout I can get behind! Fleeting Moment from Tree House. Coffee, chocolate, maple syrup, and cinnamon. Not overly sweet, and not thick by today’s standards. I had this when they first brewed it a few years ago and have been wanting it again ever since

    Enjoying a 2022 BCBS Heaven Hill barrel. This is very good, but HH i am finding is just not as fresh as the Willett barrels. Thanks to @BMBCLT for the trade last spring!

    5 year banhammer!!!
    0 coffee, very one dimesional beer.
    I love Benthic so this is surprising. 2nd time i had it and first time i also didn't like it.
    it tastes like sweet malt and has 0 coffee to back it up.

    Speedway is king.

    Have you had it before?

    Yes, Half Acre started showing up in PHX in 2019 and i was getting a nice balance of coffee and cocoa according to my review - rated it a 4.11. Suspect your sensitivity to sweetness was suspect to this one which was not overly hoppy.

    look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

    Clear, dark pour, opaque black appearance in the glass; thin yet lasting tan colored head. Pleasant nose; dark roasted grains, cocoa, barrel wood. Nice, balanced flavor; chocolate and bourbon; vanilla. Great mouthfeel; viscous and silky on the palate; a fair bit of whiskey warmth yet balanced with residual sugars.

    This fantastic barrel aged imperial stout comes across balanced and complex. The chocolate seems a bit like milk chocolate (although that may just be the vanilla coming into play). The bourbon barrel is not over-the-top and balances nicely with the base beer character.
