One more day off to recover from my surgery yesterday. Feeling pretty damn good, and almost no pain. Time for a good beer.

The Alchemist - 20th Anniversary Heady Topper

Earlier this week, The Alchemist celebrated their 20th Anniversary. In honor of this event, the brewery are releasing today a special edition Heady Topper that clocks 10% ABV. It is absolutely delicious. Apparently they will be releasing this beer a total of 4 times over the course of the year, starting today.

It's a good thing that I live so far away from Stowe, because otherwise I'd be at their taproom on a daily basis. It's like a magnet that draws me in. It's a bit of a problem.

 

I do appreciate the well wishes. I just had a cyst or lipoma (I'll ask them what it was when I go back for a checkup on the 11th) removed from my head, so fairly minor. It is good for it to be gone, I just wish I could have done it when I wanted to back in early 2020 when it was a lot smaller, and the scars would have also been a lot smaller.

Time for another beer, and this has been sitting in the fridge for a long time, but still tasting delicious.

Started earlier today with calvados and foie gras now its time for beer and hare paté 8)

Picked up this nice vanilla coffee porter this morning.....I like it!

 

First beer out of the home made by the Mrs Christmas advert calendar and it's a good one.

Belgian Christmas by Simple Things Fermentations. A beautiful strong dark Belgian ale.

Altstadt Schwarzbier
4.8% ABV

Thank you @DavyJonesXXX for including this gem in the package. One of the best domestically made Schwarzbiers I've had. They are spot on for the style. Right from the start, a beautiful pour. Nailed the roasted malt flavors but avoided harsh burnt notes. Easy, drinkable beer that is distinguishable from a Dunkel but drinks just as well. Prost!



Got the real tree last night. Mrs. ATL6245 is still chipping away at the decorations, but it's finally beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

 

Switching to something different. Muddy York Haberdasher Hefeweizen from Toronto is pretty well made.
