Dark Omen from Foundation Brewing. Imperial milk stout aged in bourbon barrels. Comes in at 11.6% ABV, and was sent to me by @sulldaddy in the barleywine/stout BIF.

The nose hits immediately with rich chocolate. Milk, vanilla, marshmallow, raisin, and a touch of caramel. Just so freaking smooth.

The taste is somewhat different from the nose, but still incredible. I'm getting much more roasted malts on the taste. This was almost non-existent on the nose. Again getting sweet chocolate, milk, vanilla, some toffee, and bourbon. This is a perfect example of the barrel not overpowering things here. Love it. The mouthfeel is thick and creamy, and the aftertaste is moderately sweet. Overall, a wonderful beer!

~60 per bottle . It was fir 2 so about 15 dollars more than here.
    Sheesh

my limit after having a fuckload of the ",best rated stouts" is a dollar an ounce. 20 bucks seems way too much for it, although it is good id rather have a bomber of Darkstar or someshit. Maybe if it was a pint can

Tawny Port Ralphius from Free Will

Bitters baker's chocolate and mellow port notes of caramel and muddled fruits work well together. Ashy roast finish with some oak, leather, and a hint of cigar smoke. The body is lightly silky and the carbonation is minimal. This came together extremely well.

I'll get to a distributor next week that got some last year and see what they have. If they don't have any online next year I'm screwed too. I got very lucky to have the time to get to the brewery this year.

Have had the pleasure of having their Barleywine and Tupps Full Grown Beast

The BA Full Grown Beast is among my favorite stout with additives ( chocolate and coffee) I highly recommend it to people that like the more bitter stouts

They sell a great mixed six that is 2x of Commissar, 2x Real Heavy Scotch Ale, 2x Black Quad Quaddrupel. I think I paid $12 or $13 which is pretty great value, especially since all the beers are about 10%

I’ll keep an eye out for the Full Grown Beast, haven’t seen that. Love Tupps.

    Meh.

Edit: ok, that’s not fair. It’s actually good. Just annoying the stores here are charging $30 for it. The base is less than half the price

A buck an Oz is a good number. I've turned down alot of big beers over the years for going way over. When Transient is turning out their product for 12.99 a bomber I have no need to seek beyond that. Cheers brother.

The mystery bottle started last night and finishing tonight is Leche Reserva by Bottle Logic. 2019 vintage. 11%. An easy beer to guess the flavors (though I missed the tequila) but more importantly a good beer to drink. Very delicious. Much thanks to @2beerdogs

One of the greats. Mind you, this particular bottle was less than stellar, but so far it’s been the only one that has been good and not great. Still drinks way too easily.
    Cheers all!

They sold small bottles this year (375ml) for $20, which certainly isn't alone in that price range for big BA stouts. I personally love the beer, and have since I first had one in 2013. It's unique, bringing the Bruery yeast to the front. I haven't tried another stout that tastes similar.

Interesting comment, like you, I think the "plain old" Narwhal is better than the BA version, I feel the same way about Old Rasputin, and low'n behold I rated the "plain old" version GL Blackout Stout to the BA version.
