My bottle shop had it on their Facebook page which I check once a week via web since I don’t have an account. $33 for two six packs. How much for one bottle of Bourbon County?

I am making it a point to try all the beers previously brought up with @Resistance88 previous question. Had the BCBS HH barrel 12 oz bottle on 11-30 and that was very good, rated it a 4.46.
This afternoon i am diving into Ralphius-Two Year Cognac. Oh man, this is so very well done! A regional brewery likes to age stouts and barleywines in Cognac and while good there is no comparison to the Free Will team. Despite two years in the barrel i was easily able to discern the base beer which is wonderfully heavily roasted in which the casks compliment the base beer, imparting notes of figs, raisins, and brown sugar yet finishing hopped enough to balance everything out nicely. Overall rated it 4.56. A big thanks to @DIM for providing 1 of 1000 bottles of this magic!
    Cheers!
    Tom

PS: I am remiss in forgetting a couple of more beers acquired earlier that i think must try new to me beers for these cool/cold December WNC days/nights; Fundamental Observation and SHIT. Look forward to trying both!

Olde Hickory or Divine Barrel...or both.

For some odd reason i am not looking forward to trying the new Willettized. Label changes and possible recipe/barrel treatment got me in fear.

I know .7% isn't crazy but most brewery that do barrel shit right tend to stay more consistent .

    Me 2 cents

Yes, Olde Hickory. Their beers are good, but Ralphius was crazy good!
You know i passed on Willetized last year, even had a four-pack in my cart. Kinda regret it given all the love. But i was in the middle of a $200+ purchase that day, and i have had it in past years, so i put it back...prolly half of that purchase that day was for you LOL! If i stumble into it i will give it a try.
    Cheers!

I may not get to it tonight. We’ll see. I won’t look back though. Nostalgia is the toughest critic. Do I like what I’m drinking now? That’s the answer I’m interested in. Not how does this compare to a memory of a beer of Christmas Past.

    I agree to a point.
I just hold that beer in a special place, going back to the High-Westified series. We also don't see many BA Releases like this one in CA so that makes it all the more difficult to not be critical.

I'm talkin all this shit now but i know damn well ima prolly go lookin for some later tonight

Many Advocates feel the same way. Price point makes it even more special. If I like it, and I expect to, I’ll go back Friday and buy more.

Central Waters Anniversary Edition Twenty-Five Pappy's 15yr BA Imperial Stout (gold label), 14.85% ABV. Pours black with a ring of bubbles that left no lacing but did leave a nice sheen on the glass. Aroma is INCREDIBLE smooth bourbon and toffee. Taste is bourbon and toffee, no bourbon burn, slightly sweet, faintly bitter, some char. Excellent mouthfeel with light carbonation, overall world class. No add-junks here, just the finest bourbon and barrel.

    4.87/5 rDev +7.7%
    look: 4 | smell: 5 | taste: 5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 5

I was blown away when @GreenBayBA shared this with me over the weekend, and I should have taken some notes. I really like Pappy's, and this was aged 52 months in Pappy's 15yr barrels. Wow.

If that’s your right foot and a right hand out front, either you are super flexible and twisty or that is someone else’s hand.

    Per the website:

    IMPERIAL WINTER ALE

This is a tasty Winter Ale to snuggle up to, released for the winter months when snow blankets the terrain of the mind and the body craves warmth and, let’s be honest, it’s dark and wet most of the time so your beer better be damn good. Winter Ale is dark like the weather with roast chocolate and warm malt flavors balanced by noble hop aroma and subtle hoppy spice. Warm up to it. Because Beer Matters!

    ABV: 8.0% IBU: 45
    Color: Dark brown
Aroma: Toffee, caramel and chocolate plus more sweet aromatics, with graham cracker, dried fruit, burnt and spiced notes
Flavor: Moderately sweet and slightly bitter with subtle lingering sweetness in medium body with slight warming
