It’s cans for me. Prefer PBA free. No oxidation from caps. No light to affect the beer. Portability. Weight. It’s cans.

The 360º end exists again??! They are by FAR, the superior way to can.

Glass as long as it's brown.
Maybe people will go back to appreciating what glass can contribute to a beer.

As I don't detect a difference in taste between bottles or cans anymore, either packaging option works for me.

Cans certainly are convenient for shipping and things like outdoor adventures, but I also love a good bottle with a pry top. plus, it seems to me, bottles can and do come in way more interesting sizes and shapes than cans...

...now if only someone could design a flip-top can opening for crowlers...:stuck_out_tongue:

I don't really have an opinion when it comes to the normal 12oz size. As long as it's relatively fresh, it's mostly all the same to me. I do miss the old 22oz "bomber" bottle size. Those are prefect for splitting a bigger beer and they've almost entirely died off. For anything over 8% abv, give me those vs. any other packaging format.

I prefer cans, but the beer is the important thing, and thats what im buying. I don't see many beers available in both formats anymore.

    Nah, the picture is six years old. They could bring the knuckle-buster cans back though;

Cans! Can take them to the lake, can take them in the pool. Can’t break them. And can smash them so they take less room in the trash.

I had to think about this a bit. In the end, it completely depends on the beer and the situation. As others have stated, shipping and ease tilts the scale towards cans. For beers that I'm consuming right away, cans are good. For those that might age well, a bottle is a must. Also, for barleywines and stouts, cans or bottles work. However, for things like lambic or other Belgian ales, bottles are a must for me. Lambic has always inched a bit closer to wine for me (cork and bottle), and I can't imagine wine in a can. I will simply not vote since there isn't a clear answer.

Bottles look nicer to my opinion. BUt for the quality of the beer, it is better to protect it from light, as I understood. Has something to do with UV light causing a chemical reaction and degrading the taste of beer, making it strangely enough taste more metalic than when it comes from a can.
Cans are lighter, making transport easier and more economic and chillng more easy.

So just like I prefer white eggs, I prefer beer from cans. Just as I prefer to buy white eggs instead of brown as they are slightly better environmentally and a bit cheaper as well.

But well, when handled and stored with care? What is the difference? A few percents at most we are talking about.

I love how all the gunk that collects in those nooks and crannies winds up in your beer, not to mention the blood that drips into the can when you slice your thumb open.

I am under the impression that some recycling centers will reject smashed cans, so you might want to leave them alone unless you know otherwise.

Aluminum scrappers will take smashed cans. Saves space.

Cans all the way. I can fit more 12 Oz cans in my beer fridge than I can 12 Oz bottles. In addition, one of my kids can knock an empty can off the counter and not have it shatter into a million pieces.

Meh, I stick them in my recycling bin. I don't really care what happens to them after that.

I guess generally I like bottles more but I usually pour into a glass at home so it doesn't matter a whole lot. However I do like the pint can for an after work "grab and go" purchase at a store like Sheetz. I'm not the biggest fan of the 19.2 format for that purpose, especially for higher ABV beers. I find that extra beer is usually warm by the time I get to it so it kinda ends up wasted.

Can poured into a glass. Cans are lighter, don't break, and don't let light in. One of my biggest peeves with Maine Brewing Company (which I love) is their format. Would love to be able to buy Lunch and their other IPAs in 12 oz cans.

The only style I'd prefer out of a bottle is lambic because something feels wrong about canned Cantillon.
