I'm going to enjoy a couple of Grand Teton brew. First up, 2012 Coming Home Holiday Ale, $6.99 for the 750 ml bottle:

It's tasty but if you're looking for a more typical American Barley Wine Style Ale, there's others out there that will please you more.

Happy to report that Chimay Red holds up well underneath uncorked, less than ideal cellaring (left on countertop overnight) conditions. Happy New Year, BAs!

Working on a bullet of Bare Hands Honey Badger. Its a Citra DIPA with imported honey. Very cool beer that was xmas present from my wife! Gotta love a woman who "feeds the machine". This is the same woman who just advised me to upgrade to a 3 tap system because an ad on craigslist was a good deal! I am unpacking all my beer after the move home from CA. Pretty cool to get to sample some of the new breweries to pop up since I left about 4 years ago.

    Happy New Year's all!

This was my New Year's eve treat: had dessert (four miniature trifles) with fireworks going off in the background, AC/DC on TV, good company and Southern Tier Choklat. What more do you want?

Moving on to today. Have the house to myself for a solid week, so I had a nice meal: leftover venison ragout with some pan-fried potatos, sautéed mushrooms, bacon-wrapped green beans and apple sauce. Paired with a Black Albert, my first and original craft beer love.

Now sipping on this, an excellent nightcap. Not my favorite in the series, but still...

Celebrated the New Year (and a day off of work) by going ice skating with the fam. I didn't fall this time!

Now having my first beer of the New Year: Third St. Aleworks Puddle Jumper. Wouldn't you know it, the 1st fell on $2.50 Tuesday.

    Cheers.
