Beer Bazaar confirmed their drop in January. Can’t wait personally. Who knew my favorite west coast ipas would come outta Ohio. Just need to get some Bodhi now up in this beeyatch!
Anybody looking for the elusive American Dark Wheat Ale style tick? Marz Boogie Nights is out in distro now. It's an annual seasonal https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/35363/254057/
Is there anything from Fat Heads being distro’d that is a must try or is all just similar stuff to what Chicago breweries are already doing?
I've had a few of their beers. Excellent clear hops. The mix 12 pack is worth it for the Head Hunter alone. Haven't had the other 3, but I'm sure one or 2 of them are solid based on past experiences. Hop JuJu also worth checking out for sure, but doesn't appear to be part of this drop. I haven't had Goggle Fogger before.
I first had Hop Juju at Dark Lord Day in 2011. It blew me away and I became an instant Fat Heads fan. I had Head Hunter as well which was also good. Had Head Hunter again in 2016 while in town again for DLD. I still enjoyed it. I wish the current distro in Chicagoland was a bit more convenient for me because I'd like to acquire some again and see if they still live up to the hype for me. Tastes and things in general change, as we all know. I guess it still says something that Hop Juju remains in my fond memory. It's up to you in the end.
I can’t recall off the top of my head, just relaying my recollection. Kind of like how people went nuts for Maine Lunch and Pliny back in the day and I thought they were “meh”. Tasted like other stuff I’d had locally already. Maybe one of the endless regular or one offs from Bells, Founders, Goose, FFF, Half Acre, Pipeworks, New Holland, Dark Horse, etc. if not from California imports which were at the time something like Lagunitas, Stone, Bear Republic, etc. made in the early 2009-13ish. maybe I’ll grab a 6er to keep the thread going.
Stopped at Beer Temple today for my 12 pack preorder at around 2:30. Business was definitely booking today. They were already sold out of the variety packs so I’ll have to watch for the suburban drop. A huge credit to Chris and his store than he can galvanize such interest in beets that he’s passionate about.
Fat Head's Head Hunter and Goggle Fogger just dropped at Beer on the Wall A.H. Thanks Advocates for the "heads" up.
Seems there will potentially be drops periodically, based on reading some social media posts. I wouldn't expect another one for a few months, however, as it seems it could be a while before the next one.
Did anybody get dates on their cans of head hunter? My cans are dateless. Still fracking delicious tho!
