Equinox IPA , from Crooked Mouth

I'll have to re-review this on. The one I reviewed, last week, was the last of the keg, & this is from the new keg. Seem like different beers. Like it slightly better now . Think Lawson's Chinooker'd meets Celebration.

 

It's Tuesday, I know.

For me, it was the last day of teaching for a...little while. Won't be until late February that I pick up the sticks, markers, and chalk in the classroom. Sure, there's thesis stuff, committees, a job search thing (we're hiring) and all that jazz. But it's good to be on a winter break....

ZD#5 out of the 6'er, and it's hittin mighty fine. Got my EZ 6 miler in this morning with some faster strides than I've done in a while (hitting 5:30/mile pace) and the hamstring hasn't revolted or snapped yet.

Added on the 19th of March, 2019.
Opened today, the 19th of December, 2023, on my 71st birthday!
Better late than never!!

Moderate to vigorous pour yields a 1/2 inch tan head over a black body with no lacing.

Nose of dark roasted malt, port, oak, and dark cherry. As it warms, the port aromas get much sweeter

Taste mirrors nose pretty closely with the port's alcohol taking charge while having a wine-like finish.
Wow, this surely is a sipper!
Alcohol has calmed down considerably after 45 minutes upping the taste score.

Feel is thick, not syrupy, but port-y with low to medium carbonation.

Overall, I doubt if there are any more out there.
