    I'm definitely looking forward to my next experience. I actually stopped there last sat and had a taster of BBB Black Forest Cake '21 and it was alright. My go-to is Son of Baptist but that may change here shortly in favor of the papa :grin:

    Cheers to that! I am planning on 4-plate RDLs in my basement, until I lose consciousness, surrounded by couches, in preparation for Amon Amarth/Cannibal Corpse in May. My back currently looks fantastic, but I need to cut down on this Santa Claus belly.

    it’s good! i opened just slightly above room temp and its all maple and whiskey on the nose with more of that plus coffee, chou and vanilla in the taste. i dig it.

    Holzlager Brewing BA Series Russian Imperial Stout aged 10 months in Blaum Bros rye whiskey barrels, clocks in at a sessionable 11.4%. Solid, but a bit boozy, gonna save part II for when I talk to baby sis'. Merry Christmas of Bah Humbug to all! (Your choice).

    Having a very tasty brew from Fremont (WA), chocolate/toffee, bourbon/oak, cinnamon, roasty, vanilla, licorice. Clocks in at 14.1% this year.

    The one less traveled, a bourbon barrel-aged imperial milk stout with toasted hazelnut, raw hazelnut, jet black cocoa powder, milk sugar, Peruvian origin Pompona vanilla beans, and flaky sea salt. Comes in at 13.7% ABV. Enjoyable for sure.

    Found another one at a lower price. Not sure how it will age, so drinking it now. Was in the mood after Christmas dinner. My kind of dessert. Update: took a sip. Much less banana than the first bottle I had. Now I get why so many people were complaining that there wasn’t enough. GI needs to get their QC in check. Last year the coffee was all over the place, too.

    Closing out a great day with Free Will's Ralphius, this one is aged 2 years in a combination of Mezcal and Grand Marnier barrels.

    This is unique and it does works well, but it might be my least favorite Ralphius. The tang of the Mezcal and dry, vinous cognac are both noticeable. There is even a hint of boozy orange. I am enjoying these aspects but it's kind of as a novelty. Plenty of that wonderful base beer shines through and is as harmonious with these barrels as a stout can be. Roasty cocoa and some burned caramel primarily. Really a good beer and I'm glad I tried it but one will do.
