Typically this thread begins after 2AM Minnesota / Iowa time (midnight PST/PDT). However, @dcotom has an Advent/Christmas tradition to host these threads for a couple of weeks starting just before Christmas, and perhaps started a couple slightly earlier than the current norm to kick off the first week.

Here is the live situation in Chicago. I need to get to bed within the next hour and get up around noon to hopefully get a haircut and then hit my brother's house for Christmas.

Good day BAs! Off to a drizzly start to the day, 49F/10C. Heard last night that this year's trip to Bamberg is a go, so time to start brushing up my German!

Toad’s facial expression is perfect for Bufo woodhousei fowlerii. However, the odd cleaning agent taste makes me wonder about the drinkability, so the rest is being refrigerated in case poison control needs it.

Morning chores done, it’s coffee time - Big Timber’s “Porter”:



Best by date 6/7/24. Poured at 50°. Roast coffee and chocolate. My “go to” beer purchase when I’m home.

Lots on my agenda today…following a trip to the Krogers, I’m meeting an old college roommate for lunch, then off to a bowl game watching party featuring alma mater West Virginia University. Fun day indeed!
