It's already available in Brooklyn, so more like two months ahead of schedule at least here.

I'm surprised as I thought it was readily available across PA.

PS: I love King Crimson too.

Dude, I know that you are poking fun, but batch variation is definitely a thing with this beer.

Moreover, I only buy bottles, not cans. Call me crazy! Hell, I'll call myself crazy!!!

I’ve had better luck with bottles as well.

It probably was, but the one or two times I looked it was not to be found. If it's becoming more readily available I'll find it eventually. I don't get too excited about such things.

Enough knowledgeable people on here have commented on the batches that I have no doubt about it, although I buy 6 or 12 every year and have never noticed. I think I'll look for bottles this time as I've been buying cans in recent years. Curious to see if any differences are notable, compared to my memory.

It’s a real thing. Also many of us who have been drinking this beer for years and years can notice differences between years too. Not subtle differences, major flavor differences. Shame, when NN is on, it’s stunning.

Would always get a sixtel of NN from the Beer Yard in Wayne back in the day.
Any thoughts on batch variations coming from a sixtel?

There is about a case worth of last years Nugget Nectar at a store I frequent once a month or so. Maybe I can do a vertical!

I had a bottle the other night, I liked it. I need to double check on the date. Nice firm bitterness, I didn’t get much in the way of hop aroma, but I’ve had a cold and don’t want to blame the beer for that. Saving the next 5 for when I’m feeling a little better. $12.99 at Wegmans. 16oz 4 packs and 12 packs as well.

Please report back once your cold goes away.

    Cheers!

I might be spoiled with the Celebration ale as well as other Winter releases from SN and other breweries, but NN tastes like a boozy mess to me. I rated it quite high in the past, so it might be just this year's release or the six-pack I got.

We picked up a single and had it the other day... It is OK. Little hop aroma, the malt character of the beer already tastes a bit oxidized, no real fresh malt character... Likely will skip on any other singles for the year.

If any beer deserves a 'refresh', it would probably be this one. It's not bad, but it's just so boring I guess, outside of the firm bitterness which is not exactly unique or anything.

Certainly not totally unique. But I would say to my taste preferences, I find most other amber ales and amber lagers on the market to be too sweet.
